Poting your photos on the Web28 Nov 2005 06:52 GMT4
I have been tempted to post some photos on gallery type websites,  but
do not want others to be able to use/download a full quality photo
file. I have heard there are ways to do this, either by reduced file
sizes, or some other manipulations, that allows the photo to look good
Defective chips in cameras and related electronics28 Nov 2005 04:26 GMT7
Apparently there is an issue with a defective chip in cameras, camcorders
and handheld computers. The chip is used in a variety of brands and products
and seems to have problems with humid or hot environments causing it to
fail. If you check out
Canon A610 mini review28 Nov 2005 02:19 GMT2
I bought one on Friday. I shot it side by side with my 6mp dRebel. I was
impressed that the 610 has about the same resolution. The images show high
sharpening compared to the Rebel, to which I set the sharpening to neutral.
The images have less of a processed look that is evedent ...

My LCD is all scratched up.28 Nov 2005 01:20 GMT7
I bought my digital camera a few months ago and always have it in my
coat pocket. I don't have a case because I like having the ability to
just grab the camera and shot. Well after a while the camera hitting
the loose change and keys in my pocket the LCD got all scratched up to

Best "movie mode"?28 Nov 2005 00:07 GMT5
I shoot both stills and video but want the convenience of both in a small
unit. Any suggestions on compact (ie, pocketable) cam with really good movie
mode? Prefer mpeg-4, optical zoom while shooting video and reasonably good
low light capability. I am considering Sanyo Xacti C6, ...

I have seem some new cameras equipped with text mode or even whiteboard

Auto teleconverter, 20D, and manual lens27 Nov 2005 21:20 GMT3
I got a Kenko 300 Pro 300 2X converter the other day.  It works fine
with all non-"S" lenses, but when I try to use it with my 1000mm
Maksutov-Cassegrain mirror lens (wholly manual) I get an "Err 01".
If I count the mirror tele directly on the 20D it works fine.
How to get a night shot like this?27 Nov 2005 19:42 GMT25
The photographer of this photo says the exposure was left open for 400
seconds.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/notraces/3396232/in/set-270103/.  Can any one
tell if something else was done to get that type of shot?

Any digital camera battery experts about?27 Nov 2005 16:45 GMT7
Been having a problem with just one NiMH AA battery. This one battery caused
a whole (4x) set of AA NiMHs, freshly charged with a smart conditioning
charger, to be rejected as if depleted by a Penax *istDL.
By a process of elimination I identified the rogue battery but using a
