| Creating the safest electronic family album with which program? | 01 Nov 2005 22:39 GMT | 14 |
Maybe someone here would know or maybe suggest where I can ask this question. Would it be best to show photos and captions in a MS Word document and archive the family album this way for future generations to easily access?

| No endorsements for Silkpix... | 01 Nov 2005 22:30 GMT | 3 |
.....from the 'professional' reviewers & testers like Digital Outback, DPReview, Andy Rouse, et,al........not, in fact, even a mention of what is arguably *the* best RAW converter to hit the market so far. Lot's of praise for Raw Shooter Professional, though - and no mention of ...

| Flash radio slave preferences? | 01 Nov 2005 21:29 GMT | 4 |
Does anyone here use a radio slave for their flash/strobe units? I've got a D70 and an Alien Bee, and I've found the visible flash triggering to be spotty when I use it at our small local rink. What do people here use, and do you like it? Thanks!

| SB-26 | 01 Nov 2005 20:53 GMT | 2 |
Hey "Guys", Does anyone have a trashed Nikon SB-25 or SB-26 Speedlight they'd be willing to unload (sell cheap) for parts? I have a perfectly good one with a broken foot and Nikon has discontinued this part. It's fairly

| Comparing Low Light Sensitivity & LCD Brightness | 01 Nov 2005 19:38 GMT | 2 |
I currently own a Fujifilm Finepix 2600 but want to get a better compact or ultracompact digital camera. The 2 problem areas with the Finepix 2600 that I definitely want to overcome are the following: 1) The camera will not [auto] focus in low light conditions, indoors or

| "1:" on lens label -- what does it mean? | 01 Nov 2005 17:54 GMT | 6 |
On the front of my P/S lens, there is a label that says: 5.8-32mm 1:2.6-5.5 And on the front of my film SLR lens, the label says: 35-80mm 1:4-5.6

| Tokina 80-400 or Sigma 70-300mm | 01 Nov 2005 17:21 GMT | 2 |
Are both lenses sharp. Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated. Also, would I be better off getting a Sigma 70-300mm and giving up 100mm's of reach to get the better macro on the 70-300mm lens or a Tokina 80-400mm? I like long lenses but I also like macro. My other

| Reducing Photo disk size | 01 Nov 2005 17:20 GMT | 13 |
Other than cropping photos to small dimensions (or using thumbnails), what are the best ways to make photos take up less space and bandwidth so you can have large photos fully displayed on web pages without it taking ages to load on dial-up connections?

| Canon EOS1Ds Mk II and GPS data. | 01 Nov 2005 16:02 GMT | 3 |
I remember a discussion at one of the newsgroups about the possibility to connect a portable GPS unit to a Nikon D2X so that the GPS information would be embedded in every image. Is there such an option for making the same work on a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II

| Canon S1 IS Lens again | 01 Nov 2005 15:56 GMT | 10 |
I posted a week or so ago about the wide angle lens for the Canon S1 IS. I've looked at the photostictch software a couple of people here recommended, and I'm thinking it (or I) just won't be able to produce "professional" enough looking images with it. I'm not looking for

| Digital SLR's | 01 Nov 2005 13:47 GMT | 24 |
Long time avid amatuer photographer... Canon fan since the '70's when the F-1 was introduced. My job as a consulting engineer brought me in contact with digital photography. In 2001 I bought a Nikon Coolpix 880. It's a workhorse and I've done some wonderful 11x14 photos with it. Not

| "Like-for-like" replacement for Nikon Coolpix 880 - any advice? | 01 Nov 2005 12:15 GMT | 4 |
Hi everyone, my Coolpix 880 was stolen last week. Luckily, I had insurance which will cover it (apart from the excess). The insurers want to know what a like-for-like replacement will cost, but of course the digital camera market has moved on a long way since the 880 was
