Buying new digital camera29 Nov 2005 01:09 GMT4
I'm thinking about buying my wife a new Digital Camera.
I found a really good deal at;
www.expresscameras.com
Does anyone know if this site is legit?
sRGB versus Adobe RGB28 Nov 2005 23:37 GMT24
What are the pros and cons of using sRGB versus Adobe RGB when shooting
- I'll be using a Canon 350D (Rebel XT)?
Any work on the images will be done in Photoshop CS, with different
purposes for the output - sometimes web, sometimes print.
Tripod - Removeable Head or Bogen 718B28 Nov 2005 23:29 GMT3
I am looking at tripods and although I would like to stay lower budget
(e.g., $100 for Bogen 718B), would it be worth the extra expense for a
removeable head? I am a casual photographer getting more interested in
it.
Fast lens28 Nov 2005 23:28 GMT1
I have the 20D and use the 70-200 f/2.8 L And it is one nice lens. I am not
sure about your camera but I believe you have a FOV that is 1.6 And that
make the 200 end  320.
I know the 2.8 L is a bit pricey but I shoot night football games for the
SD Memory Card Damaged?28 Nov 2005 22:09 GMT4
I wanted to see if anyone had experience with the following problem. I had
my memory card reader plugged into my PC with my SD card inserted. I was not
accessing any files or anything, it was just plugged in. I accidentally
knocked it over and fell about 3 feet onto a hard floor. ...
Nikon Coolpix 3200 battery exhausted problem28 Nov 2005 21:13 GMT16
My niece has a Coolpix 3200 not quite a year old. She keeps getting a message
saying "batteries are exhausted" on the LCD display. We've tried several sets of
brand new batteries and the warning still keeps appearing. I'm not familiar with
this camera though I do own a Nikon 35mm ...
<JPG from RAW> vs. <JPG only>28 Nov 2005 21:03 GMT8
Is there a difference in image quality from shooting RAW and making a jpg
from that vs. shooting jpg directly?
I understand RAW is superior in image quality and manipulation, but I am
only concerned with jpg format in this question now.
CR2 file types28 Nov 2005 20:48 GMT23
My new Canon EOS 350D saves files in RAW format (which I wanted) however the
file extension is CR2 and my Photoshop CS cannot read these nor can ACDSee.
Can anyone advise how to get round this problem bearingv in mind I do not
want to save as JPG.
"Nature's Best" contest and film vs digital28 Nov 2005 19:45 GMT1
Eight years ago or so a friend and I were disagreeing about how many
top nature photographers used Nikon vs Canon and how many used Fuji
film (especially Velvia) compared to Kodak.  I thought Canon was close
to Nikon but Fuji was preferred over Kodak by a wide margin, say
olympus sp 500uz28 Nov 2005 19:17 GMT1
I just bought this camera and am curious about other experiences,
especially about the slowness of indoor photography with flash.....
How to price digital files, rather than prints...28 Nov 2005 18:04 GMT7
I photographed a family event recently and I've sold about 60 prints on
line to the various attendees.
Today the client asked me if I could supply digital files so he could
use www.mypublisher.com to create a photo album.
A shorter 5D review28 Nov 2005 16:26 GMT34
After the detailed but fundamentally flawed DPR review I found this one
quite illuminating as it came from someone who normally shoots with the
'pro' stuff.

Canon EOS 350D and long exposures (over 30 seconds)28 Nov 2005 16:21 GMT20
I have a new Canon EOS 350D SLR and want to do some very long exposures
with it (astro-photography). I notice that the longest settings time is
30 seconds. What methods are there for extending this exposure time to
much larger times?
Lens explanation28 Nov 2005 15:56 GMT11
I want to know the differences about the lens on digital camera. I have
a Canon A75 and I want to buy a camera with a bigger zoom. I get so
frustrated not being to get details from things far away (sports,
animals ...)
Uploading to Costco ... problems??28 Nov 2005 13:32 GMT8
I have tried with a lot of patience to configure my 3 computers to
upload pictures to Costco CANADA. I don't receive or display the
complete page so all the option boxes are not visible. This makes
uploading impossible. I've tried without success to have the helpline
