Which Filter04 Nov 2005 18:07 GMT6
Hi, I'm wondering how I would enhance the clouds in a landscape photo.
I can't switch my D70s to B&W so I'll have to convert my color pics on
my editor.  In the old days when I used B&W film I used a Red filter, what
can I do with my digital D70s to enhance the sky?

I have put a small ramble about the UK Nikon D200 launch (Marrakesh,
Tuesday) on the f2photo.co.uk forums Nikon user section.
In short, the camera is impressive but we were not able to tell how
impressive; no pictures permitted to be taken, no files provided, no

Dust on sensor?04 Nov 2005 17:06 GMT23
I've been reluctant to switch to DSLR because of the potential problems
with dirty sensors caused by the ability to remove the lens.
Is this a real problem with DSLRs, or not as bad as it seems.  It
appears that Canon recommends use of a hand-held blower for dust

Photo thumbnail catalog programs04 Nov 2005 12:04 GMT16
I have hundreds of photos that I have taken that are saved as picture
files on DVD's. The problem is that with so many photos, it is difficult to
find an individual picture without having to manually go through all of my
DVD's searching for that particular picture. I would ...

Recovery from damaged disk04 Nov 2005 11:40 GMT6
I'm new to this newsgroup.
I've recovered many 1600x1200 jpeg files from a broken disk and the
process seems to work smoothly.
But after recovering I got the files with the right size (600-700KB)
USB 2 card reader speeds?04 Nov 2005 11:25 GMT31
Hi, Can someone give some specs on USB 2 compact flash,
card reader speeds?  I bought a Lexar USB 2.0 card reader
and tested the transfer of raw files from a Lexar 80X 4GB
card.  I got 3.7 megabytes per second reading to a Sony
Victoria BC04 Nov 2005 11:08 GMT20
The photo below if the view we had when camping at Victoria BC.
This was stitched together using 16 photos.
It was a beautiful day and lots of people were out walking along the
river, Victoria is one of my favorite cities.
Wanted, smaller photos from a high megapixel camera04 Nov 2005 11:05 GMT19
I have a Nikon 8700, 8 megs. I need a series of photos of the specific
size: 640 x 480. What's the easiest, fastest, most efficient way to
achieve this with the Nikon 8700? There are likely to be over 1,000
photos so even a few seconds difference in the procedure can make a
