Shooting fireworks. Tips please !08 Nov 2005 16:38 GMT22
I've got a canon 20d with just a 17-85mm USM lens at the moment and no
tripod. My first instinct would to wack the ISO up to 1600 - 3200 and use
the IS. I know the IS is meant for low light/still object shots but might it
help?
EXIF data from Canon S40008 Nov 2005 16:17 GMT3
I have a Canon S400 camera for couple of years now and notice a
"problem" recently. The date information in EXIF is not always correct.
For example, I took some pictures on Oct 7 and 8. The ones from Oct 7
have the correct date but the ones from Oct 8 are marked as taken in Oct
Programme enquiry08 Nov 2005 11:47 GMT5
Is there a programme that will allow me to have a camera connected to the
computer so that any picture taken will go directly into a database or a
spreadsheet - bypassing any image editing software...?
Thanks!
storage problems08 Nov 2005 10:27 GMT26
I travel overseas quite frequently and take up to 2-300 photos a day.
I have been lugging my laptop to use as temp storage unit but being a
few years old, it only has a few gigs available.
Going into local photo shops and getting CD burnt is not an option
filesystems08 Nov 2005 09:10 GMT29
Any opinions on whether to use FAT32 or NTFS filesystems on Windows
systems, for long term storage of digital photos, in terms of stability
and data recovery, etc.?
Replace Olympus D-40 with ? on ebay?08 Nov 2005 08:11 GMT2
I gave my daughter my pocket-size Olympus D-40 last year and I've been
missing it ever since. The canon 1D with 17-40 is just too big for carrying
in the briefcase/backpack. :-)
I was hoping I could replace it for about $150 on ebay but at the moment I
cheap & small08 Nov 2005 07:48 GMT5
I'm looking for a camera thats both cheap and small, just so I
can carry it in my pocket at all times.  2MP would be sufficient for
what I want.  I've looked at some Minolta Dimage X's, and a Fuji M401
(old models), but the reviews were horrible.  Anyone in this group have

If your an avid Irfan user like me you'd be advised to look at this one.  I
downloaded it for a try and I'm impressed.

Cleaning the insides on a lens08 Nov 2005 06:26 GMT34
While cleaning my Sigma 24-135mm I noticed a small dot on the last but
one lens element. On close inspection it seems that a tiny insect
crawled into the lens and died on the glass element :( Now its stuck
there!!
Ping: Photo Print Restoration Experts...08 Nov 2005 04:48 GMT5
I'm hoping to find the best (within reason) solution for scanning a large
quantity of fairly old family photos.
These are old prints...not negatives or slides.
I have been most displeased with my standard flatbed, but assume there are
PS2 Camera RAW Dialog08 Nov 2005 03:49 GMT7
I generally shoot in RAW and open the files with PS2 using the Camera RAW
dialog.  When I shoot, I use the levels preview on the camera to avoid
blowing out the highlights, so often the shots are a bit underexposed.  I
notice that the "auto" values selected by the Camera RAW ...

Megapixels08 Nov 2005 00:48 GMT22
I'm sure many megapixel questions bounce around, why wouldn't they
I'm currently shooting on an N75 with my array of lenses (all Nikon mind you), blah blah. But I do a large array of things while shooting: sports, photojournalism, modeling, art etc
My film camera is nice, but it ...
