Looking for Inexpensive Remote for Canon 20D10 Nov 2005 22:39 GMT8
I am looking for a wireless remote control for the Canon 20D, but what
I have found so far cost more than $100, and hardly anyone sells
wireless remotes. This seems ridiculous to me, because my old Olympus
C-3040 had a sufficient IR remote that came with the camera and could

Photo books10 Nov 2005 20:25 GMT3
My daughter (a Windows user) is looking for advice on company's that
produce 'Photo Books'. These are usually 10 or so pages of selected
family pics in finished book form.
I've used Apple's iPhoto program and books from a Mac very nicely.
Anyone here have pros/cons on Sony CyberShot M110 Nov 2005 19:37 GMT1
This camera has been around now for almost a year.  They are popping
up on eBay for around $300.00 and I thinkyou can get one new for under
$350.00 if you look hard enough.
The M1 has some neat features, especially the ease with which you can

The memory card light on the back of my D70 is blinking continuously.
It is doing so when turned off and turned on - when moved to the on

I have taken out the batteries and the flash card with no resolve.  Do
DMM testing batteries under load -- what resistance?10 Nov 2005 16:11 GMT62
Slightly off topic:
I recently bought a digital multimeter and have found it quite interesting
and useful. But I want to test batteries, both NiMH AA cells and Li-ion 3.7V
and 7.4V batteries, under load.
JPEG - multiple pages supported?10 Nov 2005 14:43 GMT4
Does anyone know if in Paint Shop (v9 or later) it is possible to make
a jpeg file with multiple pages, i.e., a jpeg file with multiple
prints, like you can with PDF?  Or, does JPEG format not even support
that.
Nikon D2X and Canon 5D high ISO performance10 Nov 2005 11:51 GMT108
Disclaimer: I neither own either of the two nor intend to anytime soon.
Nor do I wish to start a flame war.
Out of curiosity, I downloaded two images, one from Canon 5D at ISO
3200 and the other from a Nikon D2X at ISO 1600.
Canon 70-300IS - OH MY GOD.10 Nov 2005 11:47 GMT34
Alright folks - someone straighten me out here.
I have a Canon 75-300IS which I bought about 6 months ago, and was
never really thrilled with the sharpness at the high end. There have
been numerous complaints about the softness of this lens, so it's
Nikon D2X & >2GB memory cards10 Nov 2005 10:49 GMT2
I understand that if a memory card is formatted with FAT16 using the
D2X, at max only 2GB can be used. In order to make use of memory space
above the 2GB limit for higher capacity memory cards, I need to format
it using FAT32.

Moving Zoom and Pan?10 Nov 2005 07:31 GMT1
I would like to send hi-res images to my friends via email. Unfortunately
they are too big to fit the average screen. Therefore I would like to
display them as a moving pan across the large image. You see these pans
across still images all the time on television, even on HDTV, ...
