Olympus C-770 stays on12 Nov 2005 04:08 GMT10
Suddenly my out-of-warranty C-770 will not turn off. It stays in playback
mode and the lens does not retract.
After the no activity timeout the camera does switch off but the lens
remains extended.
Printing on Photo Paper12 Nov 2005 03:22 GMT21
I got some photo paper and printed a photo.  The paper was nice and
glossy when it was blank, but when the ink was printed, it looked like
it was printed on regular paper.  What am I doing wrong?  I did not see
any settings in "Preferences" that would help.  I printed it from

Hi Group,
Is there a free software program available that will allow me to crop photos
without the resulting photo being degraded?
Thanks,
D70s - Black corners12 Nov 2005 01:03 GMT12
I've taken a few test shots of clouds with my D70s and I notice that the
four corners of each photo is black.  Why is this, is something wrong?  The
D70s is only a week old.

This one was a simple 6-image stitch using PTGui.
I'm working on a 57-image pano of the same shot.  That one might take a
Actual users of Canon SD30?12 Nov 2005 00:29 GMT4
Has anyone in the group actually uesd the SD30?
I have read the relevant review sites but they are just there to make
money for the advertisers so I do not expect the full story from them.
Please let me know if you have bought the camera and how you like it.
Resizing photo question?11 Nov 2005 21:02 GMT6
My daughter just got married this past weekend and I am making up a CDR for
some friends and relatives of some of the pictures that I took.
I wish to have the files resized so that they can go to Costco/Walmart/etc.
and make 4x6 prints without any hassles.
Problem with picture on SD card - can't delete bad picture11 Nov 2005 20:47 GMT8
I have a Panasonic FZ10 and it uses a SD card.  I've taken pictures on a
SanDisk 512 SD card and for some reason a couple of pictures (JPG) are bad
format.
I can not copy all the pictures from the card to my PC since it stops
konika-Minolta not doing to well11 Nov 2005 20:44 GMT9
Falling sales of conventional photo film and intense competition in
the market for digital cameras saw Japan's Konica Minolta slump into
the red at the interim stage, and to forecast a large full-year loss.
The group, formed through the 2003 merger of Konika and Minolta,
How does Matlab's IP Toolbox compare with11 Nov 2005 19:51 GMT6
the "professional" image processing software such as Photoshop in terms
of the sophistication of the algorithms?
I do my image processing in Matlab (which I can use for free), using the
Image Processing Toolbox. I've never used Photoshop, I never had the chance
Fuji s9000 or 9500z question11 Nov 2005 18:31 GMT4
Did any of you ever see the type of effect created by using a slow shutter
speed and manually zooming while taking the shot?  It looks blurred, but all
towards the centre and it's a good effect?
Well, is this effect possible with the fuji s9000?  Can you manually zoom
Selling photos online - recommended gallery site?11 Nov 2005 18:01 GMT2
Seems these sites are popping up all over the place. I was wondering what
some top recommendations are. Basically I want a site where I can upload my
pics and people can order a variety of print sizes. And I want it to be
customizable, so that my gallery can have a look and feel ...
