canadian road scenes21 Nov 2005 18:41 GMT7
I am looking for photographs of Canadian nature scenes with some type
of road in it (snow covered tracks, mountain pass, dirt roads etc).
This is for a calendar with a motoring theme.
Does anyone know where I can get the right to photos like these?

Shutter lag problem with Rebel XT21 Nov 2005 14:33 GMT35
I bought a Rebel XT a few months ago and have been quite happy with it
until about a week ago when shutter lag suddenly became a problem.
Instead of near-instant shutter release, there is now an annoying lag
of about 1/2 to 1 second between the time I push the button and the

Setting white balance in Rebel XT / 350d21 Nov 2005 13:28 GMT4
This is my first dslr.  I've been using a Elph Powershot.  The Powershot
has a custom white balance mode where it turns the screen on, and places
a target box on the screen.  When it is on something that should be
white, you hit "Set".  Very nice and easy to use.

Primary (prime) lens for Canon 300D21 Nov 2005 12:44 GMT9
Now that I have an ultra-wide in the Sigma 10-20mm, I want to upgrade
my primary lens which is a Sigma 24-135mm f/2.8-4.5. My crib with the
lens is the slow, noisy AF and terrible hunting in low-light. I am
happy with the colour, contrast, and range, though. Looking at the
D50 blurry action shots - need help!21 Nov 2005 12:22 GMT13
Hi, I have a Nikon D-50 with a Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5:6 lens.  I am
trying to photograph my daughter at ice skating events.  I have used
monopod and also a tripod, with flash off for athlete consideration.
The pictures are never clear. Very blurry.
New Camera - Compact! Need reactions!21 Nov 2005 11:18 GMT2
I'm in the market for a new digital super compact.
I'm inclined to go for a Konica Minolta DiMage X1.
Any experiences or caveats!!
Advice sought: strange effects...21 Nov 2005 11:11 GMT11
A month or so ago I bought a new camera, an Olympus Stylus 800. It was
bought under trying circumstances and I have more than a few
reservations about the wisdom of my choice. However, to the point. I was
out walking along the Kennet and Avon canal yesterday and took some test

Justine's new DVD is out... 'This Is The Sea 2'! As good as the first
one, if not a little better.
Brightness: what to do?21 Nov 2005 08:55 GMT2
Unfortunetly I am becoming aware of a lot of restrictive factors, in
my opinion, of digital photography, for what concern printing. Being
compelled to bring my digital files to a laboratory is not possible to
intervene when the image has been fixed on paper. The main problem I
jessops universal card reader21 Nov 2005 08:48 GMT1
Installed it onto ibm laptop running windows 2000.
Driver installs and drive appears in my computer window but....
When I try to access the card a message box appears asking me to insert
a card into the reader. Duh...yes I have already inserted the card.
Less than stellar, dPreviews EOS-5D test...21 Nov 2005 05:57 GMT70
For me the most stunning issue is the much smaller improvement in
noise levels than I have expected, and quite massive vignetting and
aberrations observed with some even quite expensive Canon lenses.
The D2X holds pretty impressive up to 800, even the 1600 test
