What causes this problem?22 Nov 2005 09:29 GMT5
I posted 2 pictures yesterday in alt.binaries.pictures.animals under the
thread "Pics of Holly and Duffy on the scratching post."  Both show a
problem that I occasionally see.  That is, the scratching post and some of
the lower stripes on the chairs show distortion, almost like ...

I already own a copy of adobe elements 3, could anyone tell me the
benfits of upgrading to a full copy of photoshop? Will I get much more
for my money? Thanks in advance.
NiMh rechargers:  Europe vs US22 Nov 2005 08:32 GMT27
I assume I can't plug a US NiMh recharger into a European outlet, as is
usual with electric devices?
Olympus C-730 adapter for Opteka filters?22 Nov 2005 05:54 GMT2
Does anyone know if I need to buy an adapter to use the Opteka Filters*
for an Olympus C-730? The website does not say anything about it, but I
would like to confirm it.
Thanks in advance,

Powershot G6 and Speedlite 420EX22 Nov 2005 03:30 GMT4
I just got myself a Speedlite 420EX and plonked it on top of my Powershot
G6, and don't seem to be able to adjust the flash output in any of the
camera's modes.
Is there a way around this, or is it a limitation of the camera/flash? If
tripod for 20D22 Nov 2005 03:03 GMT3
I have a Canon 20D with the 17-85 kit lens and plan on getting the new
70-300 IS soon.  I also have the 420EX flash.  I need to upgrade my tripod
and want to hold the price to $300.  My interest so far is chiefly in either
the Slik PRO 813 CF or PRO 814 CF with the AF-2100 pistol ...
Too much contrast?22 Nov 2005 02:51 GMT6
I recently brought a Canon 300D digital camera.
I noticed that my photos takenh with this camera have a high amount of
contrast. If I hoto of a house then the road is white instead of grey.
The sky is white and not slightly dark when dark clouds are in the
Fujifilm F10, F11 or E900?!21 Nov 2005 23:06 GMT4
Highly impressed with the F10 reviews and 'low noise'. Prefer the F11 with
more manual control but is the lens as good as the F10 (I assume its
basically the same camera but then why has the F11 a better macro (closer
distance). E900 has manual control including focus - better still ...

Camera/card incompatibility? (possible problem with a Nikon)21 Nov 2005 22:07 GMT9
I just bought a Nikon Coolpix L1 (my first digital camera) with a PNY
1Gb SD card. I have had, however, some problems since after a few days
the camera when switched on would say "Card not usable" (not always,
though: the problem was somewhat intermittent). The card was about 1/3
Sinar digital backs21 Nov 2005 20:52 GMT6
What does 1 shot, 4 shot and 16 shot mean? Apparently, the 1 and 4 shots
produce a 130MB file, but the 16 shot gives a 510mb file, no less!!
Also, what is the meaning of the words "Optimasition: sinar CeMagYk?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Can't install Epson 'Easy Print'21 Nov 2005 20:52 GMT3
Epson supplies something called 'Easy Print' [now, version 2.4dA] that is
supposed to interface directly with Elements 3 and, if I understand it
right, to allow more direct control of the printer [many Epson models]
from within Elements -- I'm assuming, among other things, so you ...

Fuji S5200/5600 vs Canon S2 IS or Sony H121 Nov 2005 18:54 GMT8
A friend's buying his first digital camera. He wanted an all-purpose
digicam with good manual control and a long zoom. So we came down to
Canon S1 IS or the Sony H1. Then I saw Fuji S5200/5600 specs and at
$295 from a reputed store, the camera seems like an irresistable deal
