recommendation for rugged outdoor dig. camera23 Nov 2005 12:06 GMT6
Need a recommendation for a compact dig. camera that must stand up to
abuse in the outdoors.  Would like to find something as capable as
possible in as small a package as possible.  TIA for any suggestions.
Reversed viewfinder image for digital cameras?23 Nov 2005 11:28 GMT10
Do any digital cameras exist where the viewfinder image and/or the screen
display on the back can be viewed reversed, i.e. back to front but not
upsidedown, so that left appears on the right of the screen and vice versa?

Largest Private Camera Collection23 Nov 2005 09:22 GMT21
This is semi off topic, but probably of interest to anyone interested in
photography.  National Public Radio carried a news item about the world's
largest private camera collection, owned by a self made millionaire by the
name of Jack Naylor. His collection is for sale - for $20 ...

How to get close with water?23 Nov 2005 04:54 GMT24
I have an Olympus C2100 digital camera with stock lens.  I've been doing
macros by getting the camera right on top of something then zooming and
adjusting the focus manually.  That works great in place of a macro lens.

Somewhere on the Net I briefly saw a query regarding the wisdom of
purchasing two 512's vs. one 1G SD chip. Can't find it again. Any help?

What's Sigma's DG coating23 Nov 2005 02:54 GMT5
I just Sigma's release of a *new* 135-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. All seems
same as the older 135-400mm except for the *DG* coating that supposedly
optimises the lens for digital SLRs. So, what's this DG coating? Does
it make a real difference to the lens' performance or is it just some
camera recommendation?23 Nov 2005 01:56 GMT2
I'm in the market for a new digital camera. Nothing fancy. I'm a casual
user, and I don't print my pictures generally. I want a good quality,
however. Something in the 3.x-4.x megapixel range would likely meet my
needs, from what I have read.
Make noney now23 Nov 2005 01:32 GMT2
While back, I was browsing these newsgroups, just like you are now,
and came across an article similar to this that said you could make
thousands of CASH within weeks with only an initial investment of
$6.00 plus stamps! So I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam!"
