Suggestions for cutting people out to change backgrounds.29 Oct 2005 08:24 GMT5
I have been playing around with selecting and cutting out people from
various backgrounds.
I have tried using the regular and magnetic lasso tools and have recently
started putting the new background in a new layer and then using the eraser

Canon 'L' Lense Colour29 Oct 2005 07:40 GMT18
Is it my imagination or are the Canon 'L' lenses different colours?
Some look bright white, some look more off-white, whist others look more
silver.
Epson 4000 "invalid ink crtg"29 Oct 2005 07:22 GMT16
Our Epson 4000 doesn't get enough exercise and suffers frequent clogs.
This last time I ran the auto head cleaning the cycle completed and
three cartridges came up as "invalid." I'm not willing to throw away
$240, since the carts show full and they are almost new. I'd try a
A trillion pixel digital?  For $80??29 Oct 2005 06:45 GMT1
I like the idea of a digital at 1/10th current cost, but
we know that isn't going to happen.

Photo Markup Software29 Oct 2005 06:38 GMT2
Looking for software that will allow me to view digital photos (.jpg files)
and mark them up with highlights and notes.  I'll need to be able to save
the "marked-up" version in a different format as well.  Different colors and
line widths are a must.

Poll on *Really* Wide Angle Lenses29 Oct 2005 03:44 GMT201
If a rectilinear 8-28mm zoom or perhaps rectilinear primes in the
6-10mm range were available, would you be seriously interested?  Focal
lengths listed are in full-frame 35mm equivalents, so for a DX format
the above-mentioned zoom would have an acutal focal length range of

Seeking advice on permanent storage29 Oct 2005 01:24 GMT33
I expect I will be changing computers before long,  so the stuff I have on
my hard disk needs to be stored or backed up somehow.
As I understand it,  a CD can hold everything I have,  but I cannot add to
one once I have used it.   Zatt so?
Custom White Balance:  Gray Card or White Card?28 Oct 2005 22:13 GMT31
I shoot indoor sports, and gyms often have a combination of lights and
skylights.  So I do a custom white balance.  But I'm confused.  My card
has a white and a 15% gray side.  Which is best for calibrating custom

Since a while I have a 1 GB SD card. I can't find any brandname, the
card only has "SecureDigital Card", "INSERT" and "1 GB" printed on the
label. When I use it in my Canon Powershot S2 IS, it seems to work
fine. However sometimes when I turn on the camera, it just says "error:
Lense recommendation (alternative to Kit lense) for Rebel XT28 Oct 2005 19:05 GMT12
I am getting ready to buy a digital Rebel XT. After reading
so many negative reviews of its kit lense, I am going to just  get a
XT body and purchase a separate zoom lense.
I am an armature photographer and the XT will be my first
