Rotating images02 Oct 2005 01:49 GMT3
Whenever I import images from my digital camera (using WinXP shell) I am
presented with the alert dialog box that says that 'because of the
dimensions of the picture rotating might reduce the quality'.  When I was a
novice digital camera user (not that I'm not still) I tested ...
D70 best settings for jpeg?02 Oct 2005 00:36 GMT13
I am very pleased with the results taken in RAW on my Nikon D70
but the photos taken in JPEG, especially the colours, don't seem to be as
they should.
Perhaps my settings are incorrect?
Corrupt CF Card02 Oct 2005 00:21 GMT5
I recently went on a cruise to Alaska and thought I had taken some
pretty nice pics with my digital camera.  When I got back from the
cruise I loaded the card into my card reader and most of the pictures
were not even readable.  A few had some weird psychedelic colors and a
Best practices for storing, archiving photos01 Oct 2005 21:08 GMT29
Can anyone suggest some best practices for storing and archiving of digital
photographs?  Specifically, I would be interested to discuss the following:

Canon 5D and limited lens choices01 Oct 2005 20:30 GMT37
Canon "designed for digital" lenses which will cover a sensor the size
of a 35mm frame are pretty thin on the ground. This means early buyers
of 5D Canon DSLRs could experience "purple fringing" or Chromatic

There is NOTHING WRONG with bisexuality or experimentation01 Oct 2005 19:36 GMT49
What is bisexuality? While some might consider a bisexual person to
merely be confused about her sexuality, the cut and dried definition of
a bisexual is a person who is attracted either erotically,
affectionately, or romantically to people of both sexes. For some

I have a Sony DSC W5 camera and got a 512 MB Sony Memory Stick Pro/Magic

I was going to get a 256 MB stick, but the one I got was a good price.
This is the first memory stick I have bought for the camera and I never

Free site that allows you to upload your photos?01 Oct 2005 12:57 GMT9
Anyone know of any free sites that allow you to upload your photos?  I've
tried out Yahoo Photos, but I don't really care for the site since I see no
way to download the full image at its original resolution.
Suggestions?
Resolution with APS sensor vs. full-frame01 Oct 2005 12:11 GMT49
I'm having difficulty getting my head around the variables with DSLR's.
Would I be correct in thinking that an 8MP APS sensor camera like the
EOS 20D would be just as good for the bird photographer as the 5D
(costing considerably more) with the same lens when the image from the
Raw converter for Mac?01 Oct 2005 11:47 GMT15
I'm looking for a raw converter for my new Mac.  Bibble is a
possibility, but is there anything else (preferably at no or little

I want to be able to do considerable manipulation in RAW (exposure,

EOS 350D Flash recharge time?01 Oct 2005 06:24 GMT7
How long does the EOS 350D take to recharge its internal flash (on
average) - say at full battery charge, and at low charge.
And is 300-600 photos realistic battery life?
