Canon 350D clearly beats Nikon D50 at dpreview.com03 Oct 2005 01:34 GMT86
You most certainly have seen dpreview's comparison between the D50 and the
350D already. If not, here it is:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond50/page23.asp
Consider the lack of MLU and the use of SD cards, and Canon 350D takes the
Difference in horizontal and vertical resolution: 20D, Canon zoom, Celestron C9003 Oct 2005 01:04 GMT11
In my recent quest to get a decent picture of the moon with a 25 year
old Celestron C90 and a Canon 20D (I've given up, BTW), I decided to
see if the Celestron was really as bad as my lunar images implied.  I
did a quick and dirty resolution comparison with a Canon 75-300 zoom

Problem with Canon file viewer02 Oct 2005 22:33 GMT1
I have had my Canon 300d for over a year now and have been very pleased.
However, I have recently had a problem with the Canon File Viewer Utility
1.3 software that came with the camera. When I try to launch it from my
desktop it appears briefly and then shuts down. The only way I ...
hyperfocal, night, limited distance scale, zoom lens02 Oct 2005 20:24 GMT2
I have a zoom lens (24-135) with a distance scale that tops out at
7ft...the next mark is infinity.  If I'm trying to take a photo at
night where autofocus won't work and the viewfinder is too dark to
reasonably focus manually, what is the best way to ensure focus?

The New Sony DSC-R1, anyone seen one yet?02 Oct 2005 18:45 GMT3
I am planning on buying one of the new Sony DSC-R1's when they come
out. Rumors have it that they should be available in the next week or
so. Original release dates were late October...but I have heard they
are now shipping to some retailers. Anyone have a line on this ? Anyone
Minolta 7i; HATED; Use for InfraRed?02 Oct 2005 18:27 GMT8
I retired as a newspaper guy (started as a photog; started writing;
retired as editor) almost six years back. Photography always had been
my #1 hobby with infrared as my favorite format.
I own an absolute truckload of film cameras of various size formats.
More Canon 20d focusing issues02 Oct 2005 16:49 GMT14
Let me start off by saying I'm very new to photography.  I bought the
20d to take to Europe in hopes of getting some large prints made.  It's
my first D-SLR.  Ever since I bought this camera I've had trouble
getting photos to come out well.  I don't think I've really ever gotten
Need Recommendation: Cheap digicam w/movie with sound02 Oct 2005 16:38 GMT9
I'm looking for the lowest priced decent digital camera that will
record movies with audio.
By decent, I mean name brand and at least 3 MP. Thanks!
EOS 5D file naming weirdness02 Oct 2005 15:18 GMT3
Have any other new 5D owners noticed anything like this? Initially, it
started naming my images as you'd expect: IMG_0001.CR2, IMG_0002.CR2, etc.,
but now for some reason it's decided it wants to call them _MG_0050.CR2,
_MG_0051.CR2, etc., and while it's only cosmetic, it is driving ...
Photoshop might fail you02 Oct 2005 07:17 GMT38
So I'm upgrading the BIOS on my motherboard's disk controller, and lo and
behold, Photoshop CS2 gags. It essentially tells me that it thinks I might
be a crook and am trying to use it on a different machine, and will *not*
reactivate on-line. So I call up the number it gives, and ...
ISO setting verses exposure compensation - Kodak C33002 Oct 2005 03:23 GMT3
My Kodak C330 has an adjusment for exposure compensation and another
for manually selecting ISO 80-400.  The manual says that both affect
picture brightness, so what's the difference between the two?
Adobe releases Camera Raw 3.2 for Photoshop CS202 Oct 2005 02:38 GMT8

"Adobe has today released v3.2 of the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop CS2.
