| Canon 350D clearly beats Nikon D50 at dpreview.com | 03 Oct 2005 01:34 GMT | 86 |
You most certainly have seen dpreview's comparison between the D50 and the 350D already. If not, here it is: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond50/page23.asp Consider the lack of MLU and the use of SD cards, and Canon 350D takes the

| Difference in horizontal and vertical resolution: 20D, Canon zoom, Celestron C90 | 03 Oct 2005 01:04 GMT | 11 |
In my recent quest to get a decent picture of the moon with a 25 year old Celestron C90 and a Canon 20D (I've given up, BTW), I decided to see if the Celestron was really as bad as my lunar images implied. I did a quick and dirty resolution comparison with a Canon 75-300 zoom

I have had my Canon 300d for over a year now and have been very pleased. However, I have recently had a problem with the Canon File Viewer Utility 1.3 software that came with the camera. When I try to launch it from my desktop it appears briefly and then shuts down. The only way I ...

I have a zoom lens (24-135) with a distance scale that tops out at 7ft...the next mark is infinity. If I'm trying to take a photo at night where autofocus won't work and the viewfinder is too dark to reasonably focus manually, what is the best way to ensure focus?

| Minolta 7i; HATED; Use for InfraRed? | 02 Oct 2005 18:27 GMT | 8 |
I retired as a newspaper guy (started as a photog; started writing; retired as editor) almost six years back. Photography always had been my #1 hobby with infrared as my favorite format. I own an absolute truckload of film cameras of various size formats.

| More Canon 20d focusing issues | 02 Oct 2005 16:49 GMT | 14 |
Let me start off by saying I'm very new to photography. I bought the 20d to take to Europe in hopes of getting some large prints made. It's my first D-SLR. Ever since I bought this camera I've had trouble getting photos to come out well. I don't think I've really ever gotten

| EOS 5D file naming weirdness | 02 Oct 2005 15:18 GMT | 3 |
Have any other new 5D owners noticed anything like this? Initially, it started naming my images as you'd expect: IMG_0001.CR2, IMG_0002.CR2, etc., but now for some reason it's decided it wants to call them _MG_0050.CR2, _MG_0051.CR2, etc., and while it's only cosmetic, it is driving ...

| Photoshop might fail you | 02 Oct 2005 07:17 GMT | 38 |
So I'm upgrading the BIOS on my motherboard's disk controller, and lo and behold, Photoshop CS2 gags. It essentially tells me that it thinks I might be a crook and am trying to use it on a different machine, and will *not* reactivate on-line. So I call up the number it gives, and ...
