I'm looking for a new laptop for digital photography
and am looking for suggestions.  Here is what I want:
To fit in a LowePro Computrekker AW backpack, the computer

Wide Angle Point and Shoot10 Oct 2005 19:07 GMT14
Almost at my ends with dial-up searching of camera reviews.  I'm
looking for a good quality point and shoot camera with, say, 5 MP or
more, wide-angle lens, good low light, relatively fast focus/exposure
and primo picture quality.  Such a camera exist?  Checked out some

Autostitch10 Oct 2005 18:51 GMT2
Does any one have any experience with this panorama software.  It is very
good and free!  The problem is that there is no help file and a readme text
file only gives minimal guidance.  While it does satisfactorily handle a
wide range of panos completely automatically, the results ...
THE LAND WHERE TIME STANDS STILL !!!10 Oct 2005 18:26 GMT13
I was scanning some 50-year old slides for a friend of mine this week
and I decided to go out and re-take one of them.
So here are two photos of the same area, taken over 50 years apart.

AA lithium rechargeable batteries?10 Oct 2005 17:55 GMT16
Crayton Electronics sells them for a reasonable cost, the charger isn't
expensive but they dont have much capacity.  Anybody know anything
about AA lithium rechargeables?  And why aren't they as common as other
batteries like cellular and laptop which have gone mostly lithium?

Date Stamp. Pocketable10 Oct 2005 17:38 GMT11
Greetings! I am looking for a pocketable camera which can Date stamp
like Kodak cameras in the picture without the use of software. It seems
Fuji, Canon, Nikon and Olympus cameras do not date stamp actually on
the image. Did I get the correct information? With thanks.
Panasonic DMC-FZ3010 Oct 2005 11:08 GMT3
Anybody own one or have had a chance to use one?
I'm considering buying.  I do like the zoom & 8meg.
I'd like to find out how it performs.

Recommended book to learn about digital images / photoshop10 Oct 2005 07:38 GMT4
I've recently started playing with Photoshop 7.0 at work, and would
like to learn more about editing images (digital photos)
I invested in Keyko's photoshop training CDs, which are great at
telling me how to adjust Hue, Pantone Duotone, Saturation, Gamma, etc.

my abysmall experience with nimh batteries - buyer beware10 Oct 2005 07:23 GMT14
Right I own a canon powershot a300, so as you know it takes AA
batteries and sucks them dry faster than you can fill a 3 meg cf card.
Hence the need for rechargeable batteries.
So I bought 3 set of HAMA NIMH batteries, 2 sets of 2200mah, and one
Camera for computer-naive parents?10 Oct 2005 05:49 GMT17
My parents are interested in getting a digital camera, but are somewhat
naive around computers.  We live in different states, so providing
them with tech support won't be particularly easy.  They have a couple
point-and-shoot film cameras, so understand basic camera operations.
Lumix FZ20 corner blur samples10 Oct 2005 05:47 GMT6
Below are two FZ20 examples of lower right corner blur with basic EXIF
info. These are crops of only the bottom 300 pixels due to space
limitations. The blur is not predictable but the lower right is
usually somewhat softer than the lower left in half my photos. In
