| Archiving Old (Antique) Prints - Scan VS Photograph (long discussion) | 01 Sep 2005 12:46 GMT | 19 |
I'm undertaking a project to archive (and make available on CD) a large number of old prints that are currently owned by various older members of my extended family. Most of these prints were made from the 1920s to the 1960s, and very few negatives were kept.

| Source for Canon P&S spare parts? | 01 Sep 2005 12:40 GMT | 3 |
A friend of mine has a Canon Ixus 400, which unfortunately has a broken LCD. Everything else works fine. Does anyone know of a supplier of replacement screens? I've emailed Canon, but not had a reply as yet. Otherwise I'll just gamble on getting a broken

| "Fuji" biggest fumble in the industry? | 01 Sep 2005 06:13 GMT | 9 |
The T10 has a low-noise sensor, but they put it in a compact, inferior camera with cut-rate electronics and optics. Net result? The prosumer "DSLR" killer has yet to materialize. Looks like Samsung "could be" the first to offer such a thing,

| Kodak Dock Won't Transfer Photos | 01 Sep 2005 05:42 GMT | 7 |
I got a used Kodak DX3600 camera and the dock you can get with it. Idea being, it's a gift for a friend who's EXTREMELY computer non-techie. The idea of one-touch (1) download of photos (2) recharge of batteries and (3) erasing photos off Compact Flash card--very much a good thing ...

| flash and slow focus lenses | 01 Sep 2005 02:17 GMT | 4 |
I'm new to buying lenses so I need some advice. I'm considering buying a Tamron 28-75 lens and some of its reviews say it's a tad slow sometimes focusing in low light. I presume a flash will help the lens focus faster, right? I presume this is because the flash eliminates

| Tele zoom for Canon 350D | 01 Sep 2005 01:46 GMT | 18 |
I'm looking for a zoom lens in the 70/75/100-300 range, either a Canon USM or a Sigma APO. Can't afford an IS or an L or an EX, just the inexpensive range. Reviews I've found so far are not all that helpful, as they don't

| Using external flash with Olympus 7070 | 01 Sep 2005 01:40 GMT | 2 |
I am a film shooter, but am looking to get into digital. I like the specs of the Olympus Camedia 7070, and am thinking of that, or the Casio Exilim 700. Both allow the usage of external flashes (big thing for me). The Casio is very nice in that it has a pc input, but the Olympus ...
