trying to open old .cpt files09 Sep 2005 00:45 GMT15
I've got several old .cpt files lying around, but no longer running
Corel Photo Paint (I think that's what it was called). I just
downloaded a trial version of Corel's Paint Shop Pro X, but that
program doesn't appear to recognize my .cpt files. Any ideas on how I

DOL and exposure08 Sep 2005 21:36 GMT7
it is said,
"A larger aperture (smaller f-number, e.g. f/2) has a shallow depth of
field. Anything behind or in front of the main focus point will appear
blurred. A smaller aperture (larger f-number, e.g. f/11) has a greater
Digital Camera for Senior08 Sep 2005 21:25 GMT14
I've been reviewing a lot of the cameras, but it is really hard to
judge which would be a good model for an older person.
Some requirements would be:

What Comprises a "Pixel"?08 Sep 2005 21:18 GMT20
I know this sounds like a really basic question, but I never thought
about it before recently, when considering taking grayscale photos of
old prints for a digital archive.
As I understand it, my focal-plane sensor chip does not consist of
Kodak EASYSHARE-ONE has Wi-Fi !!08 Sep 2005 20:59 GMT7
I have to give this one to Nikon, who earlier today announced the first
Wi-Fi capable consumer digital cameras. Still, it looks like Wi-Fi is
coming into mainstream digicams this season. I have yet to see how they
actually link up to access points. It looks like they support 64- and
Olympus - What to do?08 Sep 2005 20:29 GMT24
I purchased my Olympus C-50 Zoom camera less than 12 months ago. I
recently decided to purchase a 1Gb XD Picture card. After going to the
olympus site, I found that my camera isn't compatible with the 1Gb
card, however I could send it in to Olympus for a *free firmware
Kodak DX6440 Battery Door08 Sep 2005 20:07 GMT22
I wonder if anyone can help - the front clip of the battery door on my
DX6440 has broken and I am seeking advice on the repair ?
These cameras have a really bad battery door design which lets the rest of
this otherwise good camera down.
Printer problems08 Sep 2005 19:56 GMT2
First of all, please pardon me if this has already been
discussed.  I didn't find it in recent threads.
I have a Nikon D70 which gives pretty decent photos for the
amateur photographer that I am.  I recently purchased an
LCD Monitors - contrast ratio?08 Sep 2005 18:59 GMT6
I assume most of us use computers to view our digital photos, so a
question re LCD monitors should be OK here.
I have a 15" monitor I got with my computer over a year ago. Like
cameras, they are continually coming down in price, and I'd like to get
Pano head08 Sep 2005 18:41 GMT33
What is the best one? And what is a reasonable priced one? How does the
Kaidan kiWi perform? I am using it on 20D. Also, how does one determine
the nodal point of a lens?
Konica Minolta + iPod question08 Sep 2005 18:00 GMT3
I am probably in the wrong newsgroup for this question (in which case
someone will no doubt set me straight pretty quickly!)...
I would like to get a 20 GB colour screen iPod with Apple's camera
connector for the purpose of dumping photos off of memory cards while
Photoshop Elements 3 unreadable disc after backup08 Sep 2005 16:59 GMT1
I tried to do a Photoshop Elements 3 full backup on 3 DVD. Turns out
that the first disc is unreadable though all 3 DVD were said to be
verified. Tried it again and the same thing happened. Is it a common
problem?
Choosing a digital08 Sep 2005 16:50 GMT3
Hi folks, I'm a newbie...try to be kind.  I am looking for a recommendation
or two...or places to look for info for a digital purchase.
I have an inexpensive Olympus which does some things, but weak flash and low
print quality have me interested in something slightly better.
How long does it take you to clean your sensor?08 Sep 2005 15:28 GMT18
This has taken me 10 days so far.  Thinking I'm doing the right thing
getting experts to do the job, I took my Canon 20D to the local Canon
Australia service centre a couple of hundred yards down the road from where
I work.
