Anyone know of any? A Google search found VicMan's but the free version is restricted to images of less than 1000 pixels (height or width) and I use 2048x1536 & fine on my S1 IS (as someone here recommended - it seems, to me, a good trade-off

| Lenses used on Minolta X-700 - Can I..... | 10 Sep 2005 08:47 GMT | 2 |
I have a lot of expensive lenses that I use to use with my Minolta X-700 35mm camera. This camera had auto exposure control typical Minolta mounts. Does anyone know if these lenses can be used on a new digital camera with removable lenses?

| E-300 Macro shooting | 10 Sep 2005 08:38 GMT | 3 |
Was trying out the examples in the photo lessons on the Olympus website with the 50 mm macro lense. The claim there that they got as close to the object as 1 inch, but with me, I can't get closer than 4. Anything closer, and I can't focus, even in manual focus. I thought the ...

| Optical Zoom vs Megapixels | 10 Sep 2005 08:17 GMT | 7 |
I currently have an Olympus C-2100 Ultra Zoom (10X optical), but it only has 2 megapixels. I'm in the market for a new camera, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a calculation that I can compare optical zoom & megapixels (understanding that digital zoom is worthless for my

| 350D and 580EX flash problem? | 10 Sep 2005 07:11 GMT | 9 |
Took a picture in P-mode with the flash -> 1/60 s f5.6. Same f5.6 in Av mode yields 1/6 s shutter speed. What's going on? Am I missing something? Arttu

| Canon 17-40 f4 L, good or not? | 10 Sep 2005 06:00 GMT | 17 |
I want to buy one of these lenses as a do it all (or most) travelling lens while cycling. Some of the good points I see so far, it is not too heavy (1lb) not too big, "L" quality, fast focussing, replaces a "normal" (50mm lens in 35mm speak) lens and a wide angle (28mm lens). I ...

| Will Sony's R1 kick Canon XT's (kit lensed) a.s? | 10 Sep 2005 05:33 GMT | 11 |
Big possibility the Sony C.Z. lens will wipe the floor with Canon's horrible 18-55mm kit lens that they slap on the Rebel XT. For about the same price. -Rich

| 25 new Brooklyn camera dealer pictures | 10 Sep 2005 04:53 GMT | 23 |
I just put on the web an additional 25 pictures of Brooklyn store fronts. These were taken over several bicycle trips over the past few weeks. The new ones are mixed in, but can be found by looking for numbers greater than 138. See: http://donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/

| Notice something interesting about Sony R1? | 10 Sep 2005 02:52 GMT | 9 |
The lens on it isn't much larger than the one on the 828 which has a much smaller sensor. Is it about time that DSLR producers of 1.5x cameras stopped using clunky old second-rate 35mm legacy lenses

So, what's the truth behind all these accounts of looters breaking into camera stores and tossing Olympus E300's contemptuously aside as they search for something worth stealing?

| To buy or not to buy, that is the question | 09 Sep 2005 22:05 GMT | 11 |
Konica Minolta Dynax (Maxxum) 7D - $AU300 cash back until December 31st. Must be another model coming out and they want to clear the current model. I'd love more megapixels, but the price is essentially as low as it will ever be for the 7D. I want to gradually go semi-pro, you know, ...
