| RAW question | 11 Sep 2005 21:11 GMT | 21 |
I'm not familiar yet with RAW photos but am familiar with jpegs. I've read that RAW is highly editable for photo touch ups but using a program like photoshop or paint shop, isn't jpegs just as editable for photo touch ups? I realize that the jpeg is compressed so I guess the

| No. of Bits in 20D A/D converter? | 11 Sep 2005 18:44 GMT | 6 |
Folks, RAW files from the Canon 20D seem to imply that the A/D conversion from the sensor is 8 bits (RAW file ~8 Mbytes). Yet I thought I read somewhere that there is a 12 or bit or some such converter?

| Is this unretouched? | 11 Sep 2005 18:41 GMT | 8 |
This photo appeared in Stern Magazine site in Germany. It's got a copyright notice on it, and I've even contacted the photographer directly from her site, but no answer yet. It's...well...stunning photojournalism.

| Need new CRT suggestion | 11 Sep 2005 11:25 GMT | 9 |
My CRT is fading, so I need a new one. I'll be starting color managed work flow with CS2 and creating professionally printed photographic products, including framed enlargements. I'll probably go with a 19-inch, and I have $200-$500 to spend.

| Tripod for my backpack? | 11 Sep 2005 01:27 GMT | 3 |
I've search the web and newsgroups and know there's a wide range of opinions on compact, lightweight tripods. I'm going out west and don't expect my treks to be as easy as on the flats of Florida. So I'm looking for something very light and small enough to fit
