Tripod Advice Part217 Sep 2005 20:08 GMT4
I want to thank everyone who gave me advice on a tripod.  UPS delivered a
Manfrotto 3021BPro legs and a Manfrotto 488RC4 Midi Ball Head.  I spent a
bit more then I wanted but I'm happy I did.   I'm very impressed; much
better then the Slik 504QF I've been using.  I love the leg ...
pentax optio 50 problemS17 Sep 2005 18:18 GMT6
pentax optio 50 (purchased recently) which is taking progressively worse
photos (now appear to be through a red filter (all settings)).
i have brought it back to the store and they said the settings were
wrong (i had put it to default to troubleshoot) and changed them ... it
Rotate 90 loses aspect ratio?17 Sep 2005 10:48 GMT10
I'm a novice user. Just installed MM 2.0 (on XP SP1). One of the first
features I took advantage of was the Rotate 90, from Video Effects, on
an MPG from my digicam. It was taken in portrait mode but displayed in
landscape mode, so I've used Rotate 90 to get it back to portrait. But
Critical focus with non-SLR digi cams?17 Sep 2005 10:38 GMT11
My little Canon A60 has close-focus capability like most digital
cameras, but I find it's impossible to actually use the feature
effectively since I can never really tell when the image is truly in
focus when looking at the LCD. The fact that the LCD image is
Printing file number and picture number with picture17 Sep 2005 10:16 GMT2
My printing program for digital pictures, Adobe Elements 2.0, always
has the picture and file name/number with it. I would like this
information to print on the side of the picture or perhaps in the
border area. Does anyone know how to do this?

Need new lense for Rebel XT17 Sep 2005 08:48 GMT6
I'm apparently one of many that has a Sigma 28 to 200 mm lens that cannot be
upgraded by Sigma for use on my Rebel XT camera.  I have a Canon 20 mm lens,
Canon 100-400 IS and a Sigma 105 macro ( which works fine on the camera).
Any ideas as to a good all purpose lens.  I was ...
Editing WMV files?17 Sep 2005 07:36 GMT13
I make the occasional brief WMV file using 'movie' mode of my digital
camera. These play on my PC using WMP (or, with difficulties,
IrfanView). Can anyone please recommend some simple-to-use software
(preferably freeware) that will let me perform some or all of the
Can any ultra-zooms shoot continually without keeping your finger on button?17 Sep 2005 07:32 GMT10
I'm looking to buy my first camera, a compact digital ultra-zoom for a
particular task.  I would like to be able to take sequences of 30-90
shots by only depressing the shutter release button once.  I don't
care what mode this is called on the camera, be it continuous, time
Square pixels & Dual use Digital Camera17 Sep 2005 05:40 GMT7
I've noticed that most if not all images taken by digital cameras (at
least the ones I've used) appear 'squashed' differently in landscape
and in portrait. Why is this so? (I'm thinking of buying a digital
camera soon and I dont want one that behaves like this.)
Satisfaction - for once in my life!17 Sep 2005 02:55 GMT8
Hail Simon Steel! Sent my CD to http://www.enigmaprint.co.uk and the
canvas prints are just FANTASTIC. I sent my stuff in before the sale
started but I phoned them and they let me off the good eggs!
Hurrah!

I have been given £200  and the task of buying a digi camera for the local
junior football club. the idea is that the camera can be passed around team
managers and club officials (maybe up to 20 different people) for taking
pictures which are likely to be emailed to the local paper, ...
