Im doing a photo shoot of various bottles my company makes, we are getting
great results for solid colored bottles inside our light tent.  but the
minute we try shooting clear bottles we are getting very poor results (poor
focus, faded bg).  can you give me some tips on how to shoot ...
Speedlite 420EX and Canon Digital Rebel XT 21 Sep 2005 18:52 GMT2
I had the speedlite before I bought the XT.
While reading the manual over again, I noticed at the beginning of the book
there is a difference between Type "A" (E-TTL) and type "B" (TTL) cameras.
Mine was listed as type "A" when I had my film Canon Eos, but what of the
Panasonic FZ30 vs Canon 350D - dpreview21 Sep 2005 18:49 GMT4
...OK, so the FZ30 image is noisier (though in prints it's not enough to
cause concern), and has marginally less detail and a narrower dynamic
range, but perhaps the most surprising thing here is how well the FZ30's
image stacks up against a camera with a huge sensor and a ...
Help me decide...Panasonic FZ30 or Canon EOS 350D...or ??21 Sep 2005 18:42 GMT16
I'm in the market for a new digital camera, and I (think) I've
narrowed my choices down to either the new Panasonic FZ30 or the Canon
350D digital rebel XT.  I need some help finalizing my decision.
Here's a description of what I do with a camera, so I'm hoping that you

Odd focusing issue with D6021 Sep 2005 16:48 GMT3
Recently I've been noticing focusing issues with my D60 while using the
Canon L lens range. Certainly this lens seems more sensitive than the old
Sigma I used to use, but somehow even when the middle focussing square
lights up, its a hit and miss affair as to whether my subject will ...

What caused these 'blotches'?21 Sep 2005 15:15 GMT34
Has anyone seen this before?
I'm trying to figure out why some of my photos of this old house
undergoing renovation have whitish circles on them and others don't.
Yeah, the house is reportedly haunted.  My mind's wide open.  But what
In Picasa2, Is Rotating A Vertical JPEG Image Lossy Or Lossless?21 Sep 2005 14:19 GMT24
I have several types of image software, and seem to prefer Picasa2 for
my simple needs. Picasa2 maintains the original image with all its
pixels (5 million in my case), and edited pix can have the editing undone.
My question is this: If I rotate a vertical JPEG image to make it ...
where's the good(camera) deals in San Fran? 21 Sep 2005 13:58 GMT3
I'm in town (SF) for the week, and thought I'd take advantage of the
700$ worth of "stuff" I can bring back across the line (Canada)
duty-free and pick up a decent digital P&S if I can find a good buy(my
*ist DS is just to bulky to pack around all the time)
Future Shop's 1 Year Camera Warranty Not Honoured21 Sep 2005 12:47 GMT8
I have an older model Fuji F600 series (can't recall the exact model
number right now, but it took very good pictures and I'm very attached
to it), bought at Future Shop last year, that just died over 2 months
ago, with only a few days before the 1 year warranty was up. I didn't

Fuji S7000: hot shoe and flash voltages21 Sep 2005 07:23 GMT4
I've read that an excessive voltage on the external flash
hot shoe can wreak havoc on the internal circuitry of a
digital camera.
Sync voltages seem to vary quite a lot between flashes. I
