Newbie question on lenses ...23 Sep 2005 00:26 GMT10
I thought I fully understood lenses from when I used to use my Pentax SLR
years ago, but obviously not...
Some photography references mention aperture f-stops upto f/22, but most of
DSLR lenses I've been looking at seem to be in the ranges f/4 - f/6.5 ish.
sideshow software22 Sep 2005 22:45 GMT5
I scanned pictures from my friend's wedding and copy them to CD.
He can click on each file to see the pictures, but there should be
better way to do it.
I like to make a CD that he can insert the CD and start the slideshow.

I've got a PC with a lot of files (mostly digital images) that I need to
review, downsize, delete, etc.
Rather than go through File-Properties for each directory, does anyone know
of a simple tool that will who me my overall directory structure along with

print it or upload it to a website but I haven't found one that will

Was "Ready to graduate to DSLR"; now close to deciding22 Sep 2005 17:21 GMT10
Of all the D-SLRs that I have looked at (and felt), the one that is most
appealing to me right now is the Canon Digital Rebel XT. Reasons: large
CMOS sensor, fast shutter time, great images, multiple lens choices and
excellent reviews. I am not sure that I would go with the ...

DPI22 Sep 2005 14:34 GMT4
I noticed when I take large/fine photos on my XT that the photos have 72
DPI.  I (think) understand that these are large photos and if the DPI is
changed to 300 then the photo shrinks considerably.  My question is if I
enter an image in a photo contest and they want it 300 DPI do ...
Lens Testing Question22 Sep 2005 14:30 GMT1
I read lens tests, I see them tested at different aperatures, and for
zooms, different focal lengths.  I don't recall seeing a test
mentioning distance to the target.  Is that not a concern?  Except for
macro, that is.
OnixSytle.com any problems?22 Sep 2005 14:15 GMT1
I was wondering if anyone out there has dealt with Onixstyle.com.  I
was planning on purchasing a Nikon D70s and they are offering the full

They have a phone number online but I cannot do a reverse lookup on

group for quite a while, it looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable
