| The forced death of CRTs | 26 Aug 2005 07:05 GMT | 180 |
Choices for decent 21+" CRTs are down to just a few models. I see one still available from NEC, and two each from Samsung and Philips. So now that sh.t LCDs have been forced down our throats, what

| Advice on Fujifilm FinePix S7000 | 26 Aug 2005 06:30 GMT | 20 |
I'm looking for a new digital camera around the £300 mark. I want to get a dSLR, but not for a few years yet (when I have some more cash and when the quality is more on a par with film SLR!). So this camera should be a nice and capable stopgap one to last me until then!

Are photography and tripods allowed (or won't you need a tripod)?

| What will Pentax do next? | 26 Aug 2005 00:35 GMT | 64 |
I know that I'm asking for speculative and subjective opinions, but I would appreciate some input on my dilemma I'm currently happily using an *istD, and have half a dozen reasonable lenses.

| 5x7 prints, Best Place? | 26 Aug 2005 00:29 GMT | 4 |
Are there any places that print 5x7's at a reasonable price? Seems most of the places I have seen so far are a total rip-off, such as Yorkphoto, 10c for an 4x7, 79c for 5x7. But if you print from film the 5x7 cost is 18 cents! Are there companys out there who are not out to

| Canon "cdproc" hanging? | 25 Aug 2005 23:44 GMT | 3 |
I have a problem downloading my digital photos from my Canon PowerShot A75 camera to my computer via the USB 2.0 cable. The problem occurs if there are more that 12 images (~1.0 MB each). After about 12 images, the importing programme (I'm using Canon's ZoomBrowser 5.2a) ...

| Canon powershot series noise | 25 Aug 2005 23:43 GMT | 9 |
I have tested a Canon Powershot A520 and an Olympus Camedia C4000Z. They're both 4MP and the characteristics are quite the same. I noted the Canon has a lot of noise when the ISO is set at 400. The Olympus shows a better response. I noted in the past the same problem comparing

| Best SD card? | 25 Aug 2005 23:39 GMT | 8 |
I've seen a few reviews (though hard to get up to date ones!) of SD cards online, and ATP's 1GB and 2GB SD cards seem to come out well in overall performance compared to SanDisk and Lexar. I think I'm going to stick with 1GB for the moment and the only place I can find selling ...

| A Battery Warning query | 25 Aug 2005 19:59 GMT | 26 |
I have recently purchased a vertical hold "grip" for my Canon Élan II camera. It also can hold AA batteries to replace the regular 6-V Lithium normal grip battery. It came with a warning to use Alkaline batteries only, NOT Lithium AA cells as camera damage might result. How/why?
