Epson Perfection 2450 Photo - How to scan 120 negs?26 Aug 2005 23:35 GMT10
How do you scan 120 negs on the Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner?
It comes with several plastic holders for negs of different formats
and it is obvious to me how to use all of them except one, namely the
holder for 120 negs.

I have a Vivitar Vivicam 3625 2.1MP camera.  Its great for outdoor still
shots.  However if I wanted to become a night photographer I would need
a better camera. Well anyways my question is in regards to the macro
mode of the camera.  I am wishing to perhaps take shots of insects ...

Why is Canon spelled "Kyanon" in Japanese?26 Aug 2005 21:30 GMT6
I wonder why Canon is spelled kya(ki+small ya)-no-n in katakana. All
other major camera brands I know of are spelled the same way (allowing
for differences between alphabetic and syllabic writing) in katakana
and romaji, but not this one. It would be entirely possible to spell
Ink26 Aug 2005 21:24 GMT7
I have an Epson 1270 printer - no complaints about quality but I've only
used the proper Epson ink cartridges. Recently, I've spotted adverts for
cheaper inks : from £2.95 to £5.95 for compatibles as against £17 for
the genuine Epson ink cartridges. What gives? Is ink ink? Has ...
Another concert in the park26 Aug 2005 20:49 GMT1
 Uploaded as http://www.pbase.com/waltdnes/concert20050821
This time I got smart and blasted away mostly before sunset.  The last
2 shots were obviously after sunset.  The reflection-in-the-pool (final
shot) was my attempt at being "artistic".

In Windows XP one can easily do this.  I have about 20 pictures I wish
to send to a dialup user and no I am not manually adjusting each one of
them in photoshop, and no I wont be paying for any third party ...

RoboGEO is Windows software that geocodes digital images with latitude,
longitude, and altitude data from a Garmin GPS or from an imported GPX file.
The georeferencing info can then be stamped onto the actual image or written
to the JPG's EXIF header.

Shooting stars anyone?26 Aug 2005 16:24 GMT3
Last winter I tried to take some photos of stars with my Pan. FZ10.....
problem was that the maximum zoom made the stars nearly invisible. I then
got a tripod, used longer exposure (well the world goes round but you get
the idea LOL) and the result was astonishing pictures of ...
JPEG Compression Question26 Aug 2005 14:30 GMT34
I shoot in high resolution JPEG mode with my camera. I download the
files to my computer for archiving and editing. I save each picture as
a TIF for editing. After I complete my editing, I save the edited TIF
as a high quality JPEG.

Sigma 70-300, mounted on Canon D Rebel, mounted on a tripod.
Moved the tripod to a "temporary" spot, didn't set the legs right,
turned my back for "just a moment."
