Hi, recently my battery charger for my Canon IXUS 30 just died on me. The light on it flashes now instead of being steady state and the battery will not charge. I saw that you can buy replacement charges but i was wondering is their a prog out their or a way to edit a preference

| Monochrome output on Cannon iP8500 | 04 Aug 2005 13:36 GMT | 5 |
I have just purchased a Cannon Pixima iP8500 and whilst it produces great colour images I am having trouble with B/W. I am fairly sure this is down to gas fade in the paper turning the print a selenium tone, I am using Brilliant Gloss paper.

| Canon Powershot A40 | 04 Aug 2005 10:21 GMT | 4 |
Can anyone tell me if there is any computer control software where I can take shot via the PC. The canon software is OK but Remote Capture will not show in real time what's in front of the lens, you have to do a test shot.

| Epson photo scanners | 04 Aug 2005 10:17 GMT | 1 |
I'm looking into some deals for Epson Perfection 1670, 2400, 2480, 2580 scanners. The last two come with transparency adaptors. The main problem I have is compatibility with Linux. I looked at the website for SANE, which worries about scanner compatibility with Linux, and these are

| Canon A40 interface | 04 Aug 2005 06:41 GMT | 9 |
I have this camera and have been satisfied with it, but rather than download the OEM software (Zoombrowser, whooo hoooo) onto a new (work) machine, is there a bare-bones software set that is required to access and download the photos. I'm not so much interested in editing, just ...

| I did it. . . I got the new digital camera | 04 Aug 2005 05:11 GMT | 4 |
After using my old faithful Yashica 35 mm SLR for close to 30 years I finally got a new Minolta/Konica Dimage 20 camera. It was a display model from one of the local WalMart stores so I got it for $220 but with the full warranty etc. I talked them into a nice 61" Tri-pod worth

| Shuttle Launch -how to? | 04 Aug 2005 03:39 GMT | 14 |
Guess the launch delay might help me out. Didn't even think about taking a pic before my wife asked the question this morning. Was mad at myself all day thinking of all the lost advice this newsgroup has to offer :(

| Nikon Capture 4.2/4.3 opens all images as white | 04 Aug 2005 03:29 GMT | 8 |
Just bought Nikon Capture 4.2 today, but when I open any NEF or JPG image with it, the progress meters come up all right, but then the window opens up and... The image is all white. There's nothing there. Yet, the image settings

| Best site for hot camera deals? | 04 Aug 2005 03:25 GMT | 20 |
Many of the hot computer deals sites have digital cameras, but zero insight on if whats cheap is any good. Poking around on a few camera review sites I ran into way too many cameras that don't exist anymore, or just one store closing all of them out. Could be good, could be not.

| Adjustable Resolution | 04 Aug 2005 00:50 GMT | 14 |
I need a digital camera that let me configure the resolution, lets say, instead of taking 1024x768 pix pictures I want to take 768x768 pictures so I dont have to worry resampling them to a prfect square later. I dont even know what is the name of that feature -or- if that feature

| Photo of a spinning fan and shutter speed | 03 Aug 2005 21:25 GMT | 8 |
I took a picture of an ordinary 16" fan spinning full speed with my little Fuji Finepix A205 camera. I'm assuming the fan spins at about 1200rpm at full speed which is equivalent to 20 laps/second. The Exif from the JPG file says the shutter speed was set to 1/60s. From what I ...

| WTD Canon 550EX flash manual | 03 Aug 2005 20:37 GMT | 6 |
Hey, all. I just bought a used 550EX flash, and will (d-uh) need a manual for it. Any idea if Canon has them for download? I had a wee look on their site, but have thus far struck out.

| Your experience with Adorama? | 03 Aug 2005 18:20 GMT | 21 |
About to pull the trigger on a lens, and was wanting some personal feedback on these guys. There is a link to their site as a recommended vendor from Ken Rockwell, but I want to get some feedback from those in this forum who might have bought from them.
