Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di AF on a EOS 20D29 Aug 2005 21:29 GMT3
Seems like lately everyone is asking about lenses so here I go...
I'm going to buy a Canon EOS 20D (body only) and don't want to spend a
fortune on lenses for the moment till I learn more about them so I
want to get a decent (not the kit lens) all in one lens for right now.
Help!29 Aug 2005 21:25 GMT1
I have an Epson CX 5400, recently the printing started acting up. I
cleaned and aligned the theads repeatedly, installed new cartridges,
and then cleaned those with alcohol swabs. Nothing  helped. I am
currently getting the top half of some word, none of others, and black

I'll cut to the chase --- this FD-88 model uses a floppy-disc with
multiple light-type setting adjustments etc.. i've had major problems

Is there any mid-range camera with a CMOS sensor?
For now, only low-end cameras like toy cameras and high-end SLR like Canon,
Nikon and Kodak.

CCD versus CMOS29 Aug 2005 20:08 GMT15
Being new to this digital business, I read that CCD sensors were 'superior'
to CMOS sensors. Now I see that the new Canon 5D (12 Mp) is a CMOS. I doubt
that my compact Canon Ixus 700 (7.1 Mp CCD) is superior to this SLR. Can any
of you learned types offer words of wisdom on this ...

Question About Image Stabilization29 Aug 2005 17:12 GMT11
I know that there are many areas of possible comparison between a point
and shoot with image stabilization (IS) such as the Panasonic DMC-FZ20
and a DSLR such as the Nikon D70. I am concerned here just with image
signal to noise, in particular long telephoto shots. Since the IS
Sony W7 or the Canon SD50029 Aug 2005 16:04 GMT15
After much reading and googling, I have narrowed down to the Sony W7
and the Canon SD500.
Both seem neck to neck except that the Sony is larger, has a larger LCD
(with almost the same resolution though), the Sony uses regular AAs but

5x7 printers and good price29 Aug 2005 15:47 GMT3
Does any one have a web-based d-photo printer in mind who charges 25 to 30
cents (US) per 5x7 photo.  Quantity discount (25 to 40 or more) is o.k.

Help... Sony "Picture Package" only works for administrators29 Aug 2005 12:58 GMT7
I've just got a Sony DVD Handycam. Comes with "Picture Package"
software, which contains "DVD Viewer". This supposedly lets you see
stills and movies via a USB link to the Handycam.
Trouble is, unless I run "DVD Viewer" with admin privileges, I can only
