Can't she go back to singing melodies and tunes and lay off the fat

Slave flash for digital camera09 Aug 2005 12:47 GMT1
A couple years ago I bought a digital slave flash trigger to use one of
my old flash units for my small digital camera.  I hoped it would allow
me to get decent pictures during things like wedding receptions where
people were 30 ft away.  The flash unit on my small digital camera ...
ThumbsPlus: 16-bit Version?09 Aug 2005 08:32 GMT6
If there ever was such a thing, does anybody recall the version number.
I'm thinking it might be useful for creating a self-contained CD for
displaying/navigating pix.
Understanding basic photography-what book?09 Aug 2005 06:18 GMT13
I have been using my digital camera (Fuji 4900Z) for a year mainly in the
automatic mode and now want to start using it in other modes and have been
trying to learn by reading the messages in this news group. I have learnt
but still have a poor general understanding. Could some one ...

ThumbsPlus: Add-In To Render .NEF Files?09 Aug 2005 04:45 GMT3
Been playing around with my new D70s.
Looks like it saves RAW in some kind of proprietary format that neither my old
version of PhotoShop nor my latest-and-greatest (7.0) version of ThumbsPlus can
deal with.
Advice on improving a badly lit photo09 Aug 2005 02:34 GMT8
This is sort of a post-mortem request for advice, so it's more along the
lines of "next time, how can I do this better".
Last week, I tried to photograph the new (5 day old) baby gorilla at the
Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago. The problem was that mom and baby, two
Pink prints with canon i910009 Aug 2005 02:23 GMT3
I get pink prints when I'm printing grayscale. I have tried to
deepclean the heads, and I've changed ink, but my prints still come out
whith a pink stain.
Anybody knows how to solve this problem?
digital darkroom09 Aug 2005 02:15 GMT21
In preparing to buy my first digital camera, I've been looking into a
digital darkroom. My main question is how to get my office dark enough
to develop the digital images on my computer? Do I have to get blackout
shrouds for the windows and doors? Do I need to replace my office lamp
Pentax *ist - usability of older lenses09 Aug 2005 01:49 GMT3
My son has a Pentax film SLR and is interested in progressing to DSLR.
Has anyone actually used film lenses on an *ist body? He has the normal 50mm
and a zoom to about 80mm as well as a beast which covers 70 to 400mm. Are
these lenses usable without distortion or black edges etc?
Off topic - Will humidity damage  laptop?09 Aug 2005 00:53 GMT10
Greetings!  I was sitting outside at the back of the house and I was
going through the posts of this NG few minutes back in my laptop. The
state I live in USA is very hot and humid. Some one suggested that
outside  humidity may damage the lap top.  What is your opinion? With
Tattoo artist threatens to sue a famous guy for copyright infringement over photos!09 Aug 2005 00:38 GMT234
If you take a picture of someone who's got a tattoo you may have a
copyright issue! If you have a tattoo on your body or head and take
pictures of your own body or head you may get sued for copyright
infringement! Such is the claim made by a tattoo artist, but would I
Canon S2 IS question08 Aug 2005 23:00 GMT2
I'm on the fence btwn the Canon and a Panasonic FZ5. From all the reading
I've been doing, it seems like the Pany is a bit faster focusing and shot to
shot. I'm leaning heavily toward the Canon, but can't make a final decision.
I've had the Canon in my hands, I like the feel of ...
Suggested camera for noobies?08 Aug 2005 22:36 GMT2
My parents are shopping for a new digital camera of their own and I
would appreciate feedback for a digital camera that won't confuse my
parents.  My Dad is the one who won't know the different between Bit
and Byte if one bit him :)
