Nikon D70s and manual lenses12 Aug 2005 19:30 GMT2
Am I right in thinking that a manual-focus, 'old-fashioned' Nikon-fit zoom
lens will work quite happily on a Nikon D70s? I'm about to buy the D70s, but
I have a Sigma APO 75-300 f4.5/5.6 Nikon-fit lens which I currently use on
my FE2, and it would be a shame to have to get rid of ...

spec-wise. Thanks!

No-name 512MB CF for $19 at Fry's12 Aug 2005 18:44 GMT11
After $15 rebate.
If you have a 300D this  is probably  good enough as the speed-rated cards
are worthless on that cam. Probably the XT, too.
Airport x rays-digital camera ruined12 Aug 2005 18:17 GMT45
Just heard from a friend that he was going back east leaving from LAX,
(Los Angeles Airport) When he got to  his desination, he said his
digital camera was ruined, when he took photos with it, he saw rainbows
and other strange things. He took it to a repair place and they said it ...

Fuji Camera 4900Z is not listed in camera list12 Aug 2005 17:27 GMT2
As a temporary measure I have selected the Fuji 700 in the XP set-up as my
camera is not listed. How do I get my camera listed? Also how do I add the
particulars of the camera?

Do I need an DSLR?12 Aug 2005 09:54 GMT16
The type of shots I really want to take are very good extreme closeups of
the small insects that live in mosses and fungi, closeups of shy or
aggressive insects and animals at a distance of a few or several feet, and
long distant photos of scenery.
Nikon D70 remote control12 Aug 2005 09:18 GMT15
I've ordered the RC for the D70, but given that the infrared sensor is
mounted on the front of the camera, doesn't this limit how the camera can
be oriented for remote control?    For example, I'd like to set up my
camera close to a bird feeding station in my garden, and operate it
Issue with Canon Autofocus?12 Aug 2005 06:52 GMT50
I'm considering buying the Canon Digital Rebel XT. Someone suggested
that they may have heard that the autofocus on the camera doesn't work
as well as some of the other choices (such as the Pentax or the Nikon).
He had some difficulties, but he thinks it might also have been the
