FOURSOMES LOVE THE 20D !!!18 Aug 2005 07:15 GMT11
When it's too hot to play golf, just take your foursome to the lake!

It was 100° when I left work this afternoon so I went up on the
mountain to cool off and take some pics.
ICC profiles, "print readiness" & Inkjet vs Lightjet18 Aug 2005 05:32 GMT10
My experience is mainly in designing graphics for the web, but one client
wants some large format print items produced from digital photos.  Two areas
I need resources in are ICC color profiles for computers (I'm assuming this
is the area that allows you to "see" your graphics on ...
buying a tripod18 Aug 2005 00:57 GMT36
I want to buy a tripod, but know nothing about them.  Ideally, I would like
something cheap for home digital camera photos and digital camcorder movies.
Does one have to buy seperate tripods for each purpose?  Are tripods
universal in the sense that they can hold all types/brands ...
F2.8-4.5 vs F3.5-5.618 Aug 2005 00:03 GMT7
I have narrowed my lens choice down to the Tamron 24-135/3.5-5.6 as a leave
on the camera lens.
I was about to buy and then noticed the Sigma 24-135/2.8-4.5 which excited
me as on paper it appears to be faster and overcomes the comments that the
Charging a DX6490 in England.17 Aug 2005 22:32 GMT4
Next month I'm going to England and taking my Kodak DX6490 (bought in
the US.)  My unit came with the Easy Share dock for charging and I'm
concerned about how to recharge the system after a few days.
Kodak's manual and online FAQ don't mention US/England electricity
Digital Camera Memory Stick Assistance Needed!17 Aug 2005 22:06 GMT2
I'm leaving on 2 week trip tomorrow morning and hopefully someone has a
solution to problem with one of my memory sticks.
I loaned a 128 mb Lexar memory stick to a friend, who for some reason
decided to reformat the stick on their computer (Mac)  - guess they
File recovery program from Compact Flash?17 Aug 2005 21:53 GMT8
Anyone know of a good free file recovery program? My Canon A95 lost 3
pictures I took. I can see them with a downloaded copy of "Flash File
REcovery" but won't let me restore them without the paid version.
If I'm going to pay I want to pay for a good product, not the first one I
Mysterious Seeping Tree Blob17 Aug 2005 21:22 GMT33
What the heck?
I found this little white blob on a sunny, dry day in the Olympic Forest.
No rain...nothing else was damp, and yet this thing sat there right before
my eyes...drip...drip...dripping.
D70: Controllable via USB cable and software?17 Aug 2005 21:17 GMT10
I posted this somewhere a week or so ago...but lost track.
I recall that somebody wrote a program that allows one to control the Nikon 990
and a few others remotely via (I *think*) a Palm Pilot through the USB cable.
Anybody if this has been done for the D70 cameras?
Nikon D70 monitor behaviour17 Aug 2005 21:16 GMT4
I find that white pixels, or at least brightly-lit patches of images, blink
on and off when on display on my D70.   Is this normal behaviour, or a
power-saving feature?  I find it rather irritating.   Can it be switched
off, that is so that the image is displayed with non-blinking ...
Old vs New  Canon EF 28-105 f/3.5 - 4.5 II USM Lens 17 Aug 2005 20:41 GMT2
I have the old Canon EF 28-105 f/3.5 - 4.5 USM Lens on my Elan IIE which I
would like to use on my 350D which should arrive in the next couple of days.
I cant find any reviews on this old lens only on the newer USM II version.
I dont mind buying a new lens for the camera (had my eye ...
I'm not really against LCDs17 Aug 2005 20:28 GMT6
I have made a lot of negative responses in the current thread on
monitors.  Many of these have been in response to LCD advocates.
Let me emphasize this- I am not so much against LCD displays as against
the ridiculous performance claims of display makers of ALL types.
Buy a Canon 20D now or wait?17 Aug 2005 20:08 GMT34
I am planning to purchase a DSLR and I am very interested in the Canon EOS
20D.
However, I would be dismayed to find that Canon have a replacement already
in the pipeline which could be announced soon.
Don't you just love it when...17 Aug 2005 18:48 GMT29
You go to the trouble of taking both your pocket camera (Fuji F10) and your
DSLR for a special event (big organized bike ride), using the F10 for
pictures on-the-run (while riding) and the 350XT for the really important
stuff, where you take the time to stop and actually compose ...
$200 vs $500 5-megapixel camera?!?17 Aug 2005 17:54 GMT11
So I am wondering what is the main difference between $200 and $500 five
megapixel point and shoot digitals? I am in the mood to buy one, a slim
one, to carry around with to catch photo opportunities I might not
otherwise get. I own a Canon 10D SLR, but do not carry it around with ...
