Press Photographers And Flash23 Aug 2005 18:09 GMT14
Why do press photographers always use flash?
I have thought this for a while, but just now there was a press conference
on the news and there was continuous lighting setup for the video cameras.
There were no harsh shadows, and there was catchlight in the eyes.  Why did

I'm looking to buy wide angle lens to Canon 10D. I think about those lenses,

1)  Sigma 17-35mmF2.8-4 EX sperical / Aspherical HSM
2)  Sigma 15-30mm F3.5-4.5 EX Aspherical DG DF

60 GB IPOD deal found23 Aug 2005 15:51 GMT1
I just completed this offer for a 60 gb photo ipod and it is awesome!
My friend got one from it and he is waving it in my face and taunting
me! Anyways, all you have to do is complete a promotion offer and
cancel it before the 30 days trial is up and then get 8 referrals. It

New Magnesium Alloy BG4 Grip too23 Aug 2005 07:40 GMT7
They've finally created a grip with a quality of construction fitting the
camera!
Smart move to get rid of the cheap plastic grip material that formed the
basis for this...
Breakthrough in aesthetics of fine art photography23 Aug 2005 07:34 GMT31
The usual amateur doesn't spend much time pondering the state of the
photographic "fine art" community, but, as the prices for photographs
continue to escalate more and more, photographers try to catch the wave
with innovative approaches.

I currently have a Canon G2 and have been thinking of upgrading. I was
disapointed to discover that the latest G6 ISO rating hasn't improved.
I'm into mountain biking and would like a camera to take fast action shots
at high resolution. I know a solution would be the Canon 20D but ...
"AAA", alkaline and NiMh23 Aug 2005 02:19 GMT18
I got a small 4 megapixels digicam with no optical zoom and fixed focus
lenses. The camera weigths only 100g so I use it as an anywhere-I-go camera.
It is powered by two "AAA" to keep down the size and weight.
So I put two fresh alkalines (the premium type...) and I could hardly
Manual teleconverter, lens with no aperture ring23 Aug 2005 01:20 GMT5
I was poking around in a camera store today, and they had a Spiratone 2x
TelXtender for Nikon that they gave me for $10. I figured the most I
could lose was $10.
It's a standard Nikon mount, and couples properly. Obviously it doesn't
Change date on digital picture taken23 Aug 2005 00:26 GMT3
I'd like to know if there is a way to change the date on the pictures
taken by digital camera. The format is jpeg. Thanks.

Basically, the differences are minor, though significant for some.

Slide scanning - scan to print size or best resolution available?22 Aug 2005 23:31 GMT2
This may be perceived as a stupid question but I use an on-line photo
printing service whose equipment prints at a set 300dpi (I assume this is
300ppi and "dpi" is being used as a generalisation) and my slide scanner is
capable of 14bit/4000spi... if I am only looking to have, ...
