Well, I'm continuing to read and research as part of my decision to move up from a P&S digital to dSLR. I'm now looking at the Nikon D50. Would this lens: Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED IF AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens

Some time ago, I read about the fact that rather often cities/towns require a permit to use a tripod in their place. But what about monopods? Gregor

| NimH batteries | 31 Aug 2005 22:10 GMT | 6 |
I get very confused about NiMh batteries. On the one hand we are told that you don't have to have them fully discharged before recharging because they don't have a memory. But on the other hand I understand that if you don't have an expensive charger that knows when full charge has ...

| Digital SLR's - expensive hobby | 31 Aug 2005 20:44 GMT | 134 |
I have never owned an SLR, always seemed to much of a camera for my skills (and too pricey). But I am wondering about the thoughts on digital technology from those who do have them. Someone could own a film SLR for 10, 20 years and just upgrade the lenses as

| Fake memory sticks? | 31 Aug 2005 15:39 GMT | 8 |
I bought a 1GB Sony memory stick pro for ~US$88, here in Bombay, for my Sony W7. Later, I complained to the dealer from whom I bought the camera (not the stick) that he was asking too much for the stick (he had quoted $128)!! He said I must've bought one of those fake memory

Given the review on http://www.dpreview.com/news/0508/05082209canoneos5d.asp Do you think the $3299 is worth it compared to about $ 1238 for the 20D now (buydig.com) considering its improvements over the 20D?

| Canon A520: Easiest way to lighten up dark shadows? | 31 Aug 2005 12:30 GMT | 2 |
I'm a new owner of a Canon A520. I like the camera, its features and I especially like its small size. I have one complaint, the photos tend to be slightly dark. It does not matter if I'm indoors or outdoors. I've been using Photoshop Elements 3 and can lighten up the shadows ...
