how fast will prices drop?27 Jul 2005 15:26 GMT28
Any speculations/guesses on what a street price might be on a Canon EOS 1Ds
digital (16Megapixel) in maybe 2 years? I see now it can be had for about
$7000. Out of my budget, but drooling. Curious how the price might drop in
a year or two (guesstimates of course)?  Right now I am ...
Burn photos to DVD and shown on TV27 Jul 2005 13:37 GMT4
Photo DVD Maker Professional is a cool tool to burn photo to DVD and
could be shown on TV with backgroud music and transition effects.

Olympus C-770 No sound in movie mode27 Jul 2005 11:55 GMT12
I bought Olympus C-770 several months ago, and I am quite happy with
the still pictures it takes.
However, the movies are a different matter--when I shoot JPEG movies, I
don't get any sound.  According to the on-line reviews, the camera is
Photos Downgraded By Transfer To Photo CDs27 Jul 2005 10:36 GMT10
My daughter took some Xd cards into Boots Chemists (a national chain
here in the UK) and had the photos (taken during a recent holiday in
Sri Lanka) loaded onto Photo CDs.
I have been post processing these photos from the CDs (unfortunately

exposure value27 Jul 2005 07:03 GMT2
Folks
when having a look at some of the review photographs for the 20D on the
DPReview site I noticed that with the shot EXIF data an "exposure value" was
given (in that instance 12.6 EV).  This was alongside the F stop and shutter

How to make Windows see USB and card reader reliably?27 Jul 2005 01:52 GMT3
This discussion applies to a desktop system running Windows 98SE.
I recently installed a USB port and flash card reader (that goes to a
digital camera).  It didn't work for several tries, then worked great,
ONCE, then didn't work again several times, then worked again once.
Card readers freeze computer when uploading pictures through usb 2.027 Jul 2005 01:39 GMT1
When transfering pictures from card readers (Pearl 8-in-1 and Transcend
6-in-1, with fast Lexar and Kingston 512MB CF cards) the computer
freezes in the middle of the process. This happens only using usb 2.0,
not usb 1.1. Drivers, as far as I can see, are the most recent ones
Switching to a Canon digital SLR27 Jul 2005 01:34 GMT1
The plan is to switch from my EOS 3 to a EOS 350D. Will my Canon
lenses be OK? EF 85 1.8 and EF 35-80? What about the Tamron 28-300? I
see there is a DI version of this now. What extra does that give?
Lines in 11x17's from HP Photosmart 875026 Jul 2005 22:43 GMT2
I recently got a Photosmart 8750. I have now two times tried to make a nice
11x17 borderless print: Each time I got very thin white lines across the
image. Seven lines, parallel to the long side of the paper, the first line
about 10cm from an edge and then the rest regularly spaced ...
Sunpak 383 or 5000 Vs Vivitar 285HV for EOS 300D26 Jul 2005 21:18 GMT4
I need a flash for my EOS 300D. I don't object to the 420 or 550, but I
can't blow $300 or even $150 on a flash. Else, I'd consider also the Sigma
ST 500 Super or whatever as well.

Capturing image from a micro-fiche screen.26 Jul 2005 20:05 GMT2
I am doing some research at our local Nebraska State Historical
society. They have a large collection of newspapers from the mid 1800's
to present times. They have plans to convert everything to an
electronic media but for now everything is on micro-fiche film. I can
Professional Model Scouts : how do they make a living?26 Jul 2005 19:00 GMT1
A model agency said they have several professional scouts. How do the
scouts make money?
They get a percentage of the agencies fee for a model right? So lets
say an scout has a great model and introduced them to the agency and
