Rawshooter doesn't respond anymore03 Jul 2005 00:35 GMT3
I got a blue screen while using Rawshooter (2005 1.1.3 update ). Now, it
doesn't open anymore.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, it just won't open.
Tried a system restore on XP, but no joy.
"Counterfeit" batteries02 Jul 2005 23:20 GMT17
Hi group,
Having 3 digital cameras in the household (between us), the cheap batteries
advertised on the internet are tempting. Has anyone any experience with
these? Are they OK? Canon warns of all sorts of dangers, but they would
Where is rec.photo.software02 Jul 2005 18:35 GMT2
Can any one get this news group?
I'm in search of infos about what photo software are available, the
review of the similar products, and the tips and tricks on the usage.
And, the wars like "Photoshop vs. PictureStore".

A shoot out of sorts and a call for more02 Jul 2005 16:45 GMT11
Ok as shoot outs go this one is pretty lame, I am hoping that others
might post what they have done as well.
Last summer a fiend of mine bought a film scanner, a Nikon Coolscan V I
believe.  We both wanted to see how his 35mm Nikon would do against my
20D 'standard' sharpening setting also RAW02 Jul 2005 15:45 GMT4
1. Is the 'middle' setting of Sharpness (as in Parameter 2) on
the 20D no sharpening?
2. When RAW files are produced, are they sharpened as per
sharpening settings in the camera? If so, why, shouldn't RAW
Number of pixels- Explanation02 Jul 2005 12:56 GMT12

the number of pixels.
I know it is advertising their product but it contains interesting

Circular Light Areas in Photo02 Jul 2005 07:34 GMT28
I have a Canon A95.  Occassionally (and I'm trying to narrow down when)
I take a photo and I get small circular areas which are lighter than the
rest of the area.  They remind me of what would happen when painting
watercolors and an area blooms (but it is a perfect circle).
Dealing with takedown requests02 Jul 2005 06:57 GMT12
In the past I have received requests for single photos to be removed and
have obliged as I wanted to continue taking photos of the musicians
involved.
I have recently recieved a request to take down a few more photos than

Canon EOS-20D concern before purchase02 Jul 2005 04:58 GMT22
Are the recent crop of 20D's still freezing up?
I have read that some owners' cameras freeze up but I didn't know if
that was resolved or not lately?  Did that have to do with the
firmware because I read something about the 20D's firmware? If not, do
any user reports on microtek i900 or 1800f02 Jul 2005 02:31 GMT4
I would like to hear from anyone who owns or has used a microtek i900 or
1800f scanner.  I hear a lot of comments about epson scanners but not really
anything about microtek.  I'm about to dive into the digital world by
scanning my 6x6 and 4x5 transparencies.  Generally I like to ...

Example(s) of Nikon Capture 4.x de-fishing a 10.5mm fisheye image?01 Jul 2005 22:10 GMT3
I've recently bought the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye lens for my D70;  it
replaces my now-useless Sigma 15mm f/2.8 fisheye.
However, I've read that the Nikon Capture 4.x software (which I don't have)
can de-fish an image created with the 10.5 lens.
