| Nikon Coolpix 8700 Never Again | 07 Jul 2005 03:50 GMT | 5 |
I purchased my Nikon 8700 in March and was disappointed from the start. Then in July the camera became Schizophrenic. The operating software has gone completely haywire. The camera does what it wants to do, not what I want it to do. Pretty neat trick for a mere $700.

| Nikon 70s or Nikon 50 or Rebel XT??? | 07 Jul 2005 03:32 GMT | 39 |
I'm considering getting a dSLR. The afore mentioned cameras is where I'm targeting. Is the D70s worth the extra over a D50. Are the extra 2M of pixels on the Canon the decisive factor? I had also planned to get the 55-200mm lens to round out the package. Any opinions.

| Why the blues are not deep blue? | 07 Jul 2005 03:13 GMT | 13 |
I bought my Canon Rebel XT recently, but somhow, the colours I get are faded. I went out this PM and took a few shots around the house. The sky was deep blue, yet unless I'm terribly wrong, it seems my XT might be misbehaving ;-(

I haven't been paying much attention to my Brooklyn Store Fronts album. I've been busy with my parade pictures, and my next project is to stitch the 23 panoramas I recently took in Denmark. But every few days the store fronts album produces an e-mail. Usually just a thank you, but ...

| Image stabilization | 06 Jul 2005 23:05 GMT | 2 |
Image stabilization appears to be a great feature of the mid-priced 10X + digital cameras. There appears to be a few different types. Are these systems all similar? Do any of them work in a unique way that makes it superior?

| Fuji 4700 Lens won't retract | 06 Jul 2005 22:01 GMT | 5 |
The lens just suddenly stopped retracting. Powered it off and on a number of times, installed fresh batteries, it's stuck. Has this happened to anyone else, cheap or expensive fix. Digital cams are getting so cheap, probably better off buying a new one??

| Limits in print sharpness | 06 Jul 2005 19:09 GMT | 35 |
Right up front I will say that I don't believe we always need the ultimate in print sharpness for the print to look great, I am however interesting in what it take to get the sharpest print possible. I am going to limit the prints to ones that are output on the laser jet

| Nikon Coolpix 5900 a good choice? | 06 Jul 2005 16:53 GMT | 16 |
I'm trying to help my girlfriend find a suitable camera to replace her 35mm compact camera (Pentax Espio 928, 28-90mm zoom). She takes snapshots and doesn't need an SLR. A compact camera is an advantage since it'll be easier to bring along, but at the
