What's non-DSLR  future? e.g., Sony updates F828?10 Jul 2005 13:43 GMT20
Non-DSLRs seem to be heading in new directions such as the Canon S2 IS
and the Sony DSC H1. Longer is better, mpeg movies are in, etc.
Meanwhile, the price gap between higher end digicams and DSLRs
continues to shrink.

Photographing Inscriptions: Nikon Coolpix 8800 or Canon Dig Rebel XT?10 Jul 2005 09:41 GMT9
I'm leaving for Europe in a few weeks. While there, I hope to
photograph and cataloque any ancient inscriptions (ie GreeK, Latin,
Etc) that I may find. Most of these inscriptions are outdoors, the
majority of them carved in stone.
New S2 IS and Questions10 Jul 2005 06:28 GMT5
Based on input from this group and reviews, I bought it and then
justified the cost to my wife ($699 here in Canada) Am still playing with
it, taking bunches of photos and enjoying every minute but I do have a
few questions.
Can Panasonic Lumix FZ5 use 2-gig SD card?10 Jul 2005 05:19 GMT4
I just got my camera couple of weeks ago.  I see in the manual a table
of how many pics, at what resolution, an SD card can hold, depending on
its size.  The table goes up to 1 gigabyte.  Is that a hard limit of the
FZ5, or is it a matter of there weren't any 2-gig SD cards being ...

Which P&S to complement a dSLR (follows "Hamstrung by a dSLR")10 Jul 2005 04:32 GMT17
>From the thread "Hamstrung by a dSLR", I concluded that its a good idea
to acquire a P&S for using when I don't want to lug around the Canon
300D. Now the obvious question is which one. I don't want to spend too
much on a super-sleek/small, mega mega pixel and the latest P&S out
Olympus C-7070WZ Question ?10 Jul 2005 03:50 GMT7
Sorry if these 3 question are obvious, but here goes:
<1> When shooting in AE BKT mode where it can record 3 or 5 pictures
incremented up & down form normal exposure, does it do all of this
from just the 1 captured picture that's in the buffer or does it
Life Under a Chair10 Jul 2005 03:29 GMT21
Hours later they were still at it:

I took this with a Coolpix 990. I snapped 132 images and this was the
best. (I could not get them to stay still).
Looking for a SHARP tele for D7010 Jul 2005 03:12 GMT6
I might be looking for a dream, but is there a REAL sharp zoom in the
100-400 range that works with my D70.
I have a 80-400VR, but am just not satisfied with the resolution as compared
to my other lenses.
New photos of Humming birds10 Jul 2005 01:46 GMT25
After my last post I took the advice given and aquired a Tripod which I was
trying out today. In the corner of the yard we have a trumpet vine and I was
fortunate to catch a couple of Humming Birds both flying and resting. Please
have a look and give me your comments. Thanks Mike
