Fuji A340 powers off when connecting to USB port20 Jul 2005 04:47 GMT5
I just got a Fuji A340 and am having trouble with getting it to work
with a USB connection.  I power on the camera, then connect the USB
cable.  Then the camera switches over to USB computer mode, other
choices are web camera and USB printer.  Fine so far.  But as soon as I
Pentax bad news20 Jul 2005 04:31 GMT1
Like many others, Pentax is singing the digital blues...
I just read about Pentax profits falling 40 some percent and they will be
making job cuts. I loved using their cameras and lenses back in my film days
and still retain some. I'm using a Canon DSLR now because nearly two ...
D70 ISO 200 Noise vs EOS 300D ISO 10020 Jul 2005 03:41 GMT9
I am most definitely NOT trying to start any flame wars, or any comments of
"you D70 owners really are stuck with a sucky noise-filled camera" or ones
like "you Digital Rebel owners think your images look better but they're
overprocessed."
Aperture limits with high shutter speeds in Panasonic FZ2020 Jul 2005 03:19 GMT12
I recently bought a Panasonic FZ20, which I, by and large, am very
pleased with. (Blown highlights seem much more of a problem than with
my CP995, but they seem to be minimised by setting "Contrast" to low,
and exposure compensation to -2/3 when photographing essentially any
Which CDs are recommended20 Jul 2005 03:18 GMT15
Which CDs are currently recommended for storing photos?
I have read at some stage that "Mitsui process", whatever that is, CDs were
the best. Kodak used to make them, but no longer do so.

new camera advice20 Jul 2005 01:51 GMT5
After 3 years of treating my Canon G5 like a rented mule, it finally
died on me. I'm hoping for some suggestions for a replacement. Here's
what I'm looking for...

Good photography discussion forum20 Jul 2005 00:30 GMT3
Found a good discussion forum on photography that I'd like to share.
http://www.photocamel.com
PhotoCamel is aimed primarily at pros and enthusiasts. Some quality
contributors so far. Worth a look.
Good photo-sharing websites?20 Jul 2005 00:28 GMT3
Someone recently introduced me to www.flickr.com, but I don't like the
fact that there are so many casual snapshots crowding out the more
"ambitious", artistic photos.  Does anyone know of any good
photo-sharing websites that are geared more towards artistic
Sony BCG34HUE4 Ultra 15 Battery Charger20 Jul 2005 00:12 GMT8
I just purchased a Sony BCG34HUE4 Ultra 15 battery charger with four
(4) AA Ni-MH batteries (2500 mAh).  The store where I bought it doesn't
carry Sony replacement batteries for it.  (I always like to keep one
set charged in my digital camera bag, while the other set is charging).
Recommendations for a replacement long lens for a 20D.19 Jul 2005 23:52 GMT7
I bought a 20D and picked up a used 75-300 Canon Zoom with IS. I am
dissatisfied with the quality of the image from 200 -300 mm. I am thinking
of a prime lens of either 300 or 400mm and looking hard at the Canon 300 F4L
with USM and IS or the 400 F4L. Both are about the same ...

Canon 200d Battery19 Jul 2005 22:02 GMT4
I just got a Canon 200d.  The battery seems to die out after only a couple
of hours.  Is this how it should work?  Do people just carry around a bunch
of batteries with them to keep these sorts of cameras going while they're
out?
Kodak DX6340 - changing ISO setting19 Jul 2005 21:58 GMT1
I have a Kodak DX6340 and am generally quite happy with the results.
However when trying to shoot in low light areas I would like to be able to
change the ISO setting.
I believe that should be possible (the manual explains how it is done).

Canon 20D focus problem19 Jul 2005 21:20 GMT11
In attempting to freeze the wings of a hummingbird in flight, I put the
creative focus in Tv mode.  All of my shots were very dark to black.  I
thought I could dial up the shutter speed and the aperture would
compensate.  It appears the the Tv mode when set to a slower shutter
