Got a new male golden retriever puppy and trying to settle on a name.
My favorite name so far: Mingus (After the jazz musician, and because it
sounds kinda like a dog name; also, Gus for short).
Whaddaya think? Other suggestions?
Plug n play really is.23 Jul 2005 16:13 GMT1
For years I have been disparaging plug and pray.  It looks like they are
getting it right these days!
We bought a new, relatively cheap printer for my wife's computer- one
that can print on CD or DVD for labeling.  The installation worked
Canon 350D Video Out23 Jul 2005 13:36 GMT17
On the Canon 350D, is there a way to get real time video out to a TV to
see what the camera is seeing before taking the shot?  I know I'd have
to lock up the mirror.
I do a lot of product shots of industrial computers (see

wall wall, a 3'x4' window next to it and opposite the smaller window

LS443 Kodak Easyshare power problem23 Jul 2005 01:32 GMT8
I have a LS443 Kodak Easyshare.  I am experiencing power problems.
When I turn on the camera, it momentarily shows a lcd display, the
green lights come on, but in about 2 seconds the whole thing shuts off.
It will not power up.  I don't have a dock and use the usb port.  When
Contact Thumbnail software23 Jul 2005 00:34 GMT3
I am looking for a cheap/free program that can display thumbnail images
in a contact sheet and print it out. The program needs to be flexible
to allow me to select how many I want per page( i.e. 2 columns x 10
rows). I also want to be able to add comments under or next to each
Digital slide sorter software?23 Jul 2005 00:32 GMT8
Back when I was shooting 35mm slides I had a nifty little device with
rear lighting that would allow me to sort the slides whatever order I
preferred.  I could use something like this for my digital pics!  What
would be nice would be a program that would reduce a folder full of
best filter for everyday use?22 Jul 2005 22:53 GMT18
Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best lens filter for everyday
use?  Some people tell me UV, some say skylight, some say polarizer.  What's
your opinion?
Canon Powershot SD400 Kids&pets Mode22 Jul 2005 22:20 GMT1
Can anyone explain to me the Kids and Pets mode on this camera?  It seems to
do away with delay in shooting, I assume this comes at some cost to focusing
and white balance.  There are no details on this mode whatsoever in the
users manual I downloaded.

I've got at hand a book of vouchers for some Canon accesories and wondered
if anyone knew what retailers (in the UK) had to be used in order to qualify

I have looked at a few online retailers with good prices but no doubt these
