Which storage format please26 Jun 2005 16:56 GMT9
I've just got an Olympus 7070, a great bit of kit but loads of formats.
I can't tell which to use, and I don't really understand the difference.
It's 7mp and I have a 1gb card so memory isn't really a problem.
I want good quality shots. My previous camera gave me 4mp jpegs and these ...

Long: How to photograph coins?26 Jun 2005 16:24 GMT17
I sent this to rec.collecting.coins, but failed to cross-post to here.
I'm hoping that, between these two NGs, I can get some good advice on
how to photograph coins, if anyone here has experience with this. Here's
the post I sent to RCC:
Canon G626 Jun 2005 15:30 GMT2
I've noticed a 'loose screw' sound inside my G6.  Looking for
information regarding this type of sound I've run across mention of
an orientation sensor in some cameras that are the source of such a
sound.  Mine is coming from the inside of the handle/battery section of
How good is the D50 18-55 kit lens, really?26 Jun 2005 14:21 GMT6
I have seen several test shots where the 18-55 kit lens looks a bit soft,
almost like the Canon kit lens.
So far only this site has samples that look sharp enough:

Canon A51026 Jun 2005 11:45 GMT3
Thinking of buying one of these cameras for my daughter. The spec looks
pretty good to me & at a little over a hundred pounds it seems good value
too.
Anyone out there use one & if so what do you think to it ??
Cleaning this bugger:26 Jun 2005 11:17 GMT12
So this little speck of joy has shown up on my pics.  I read Rockwell's
advice, and he says that the particulate matter typically gathers on
the mirror, and not the sensor itself.  I folllowed his advice of
putting the camera in bulb mode and blowing gently.  I followed his
Using UV filters and lens hoods indoors26 Jun 2005 09:40 GMT18
I am taking photos at a large dinner / event on Saturday night in a large

Eliminating unwanted card reader driver letters.  26 Jun 2005 06:26 GMT3
Here's a little Windows tip I just figured out:
For my CF cards, I use a multi-slot USB reader mounted in a spare
drive bay.  Unfortunately, it produces four extra drive letters for
Smartmedia, SD, MemStick, and ??.  The biggest problem with these is

Question on decreasing camera shake at high zoom26 Jun 2005 01:50 GMT17
I just bought and love a Canon IS2... it takes darned good photos...
however I am having some issues with camera shake (even with IS turned

I was wondering what else I could try. I know that zooming out will ...
Digital Camera Repair26 Jun 2005 01:28 GMT1
When I bought my Nikon Coolpix 5700 a couple of years ago I added an
extended warranty from Mack Camera in New Jersey.  I usually don't get
extended warranties as most digital electronic equipment is pretty reliable.
Well, the camera malfunctioned and I emailed the company (Mack ...
