I had made a choice for my plunge into digital but waiting for my local store to carry the one I wanted I had time for my mind to wander and more important to educate myself a bit more. I have learned perhaps I don't really need the highest mega-pixel P&S. I

A friend is in the market for a new digital camera. He wants to spend under $900. We have agreed that real image stabilization is a must have feature. Has anyone a list of which camera models have IS so one can then compare those to see which suit his needs?

I have never used a digital camera. I would like to buy one now with 5-7 MP resolution. I want it to be small (easy to travel with), have oversized LCD screen (at least 2 inches), and provide good enough quality for normal, non-professional use with shapr/crips pictures
