web photos28 Jun 2005 21:49 GMT10
For a long time I have been assuming that photos will look better in a
print then on the computer screen, lately I have started to question
this.  One of the things I hear a lot is that a given camera is ok for
photos that will be viewed on the web, the part that is assumed from
Online misc. photo gadget store?28 Jun 2005 21:46 GMT1
I'm looking for something simple, but my only camera store in town
doesn't have it & I don't know what it's called so I can't search for
it online. I have a flash (Vivitar 283) that I'd like to put atop a
light stand & have it pivot so I can tilt it in any direction. Sounds
Software that makes digital images look like film?28 Jun 2005 20:02 GMT2
I came across software and plug-ins ages ago in this area but the web has
changed and I can't find any of them!  I recall one was called Digital Film
or somesuch and when I search for that I can only find DV stuff.  Thanks for
any help!
Automatic producing an image of a desired aspect ratio.28 Jun 2005 19:17 GMT4
I find information for my diploma work
about automatic scene-dependent image cropping, i.e., cropping
undesirable content from a picture and magnifying or zooming the
desired content to fill the entire ("crop to fill") photographic print.
CCD/CMOS on a remote device...28 Jun 2005 18:20 GMT6
Hello, Folks!
I would like get other's 2¢ worth on this matter...
I am looking to create a remote device that will take multiple pictures at one time.  This would be connected to a laptop (USB?  WiFi?  Not sure, yet.) with multiple sensors (CCD/CMOS).  I need these pictures to ...
Any pocketable digicams with little noise at ISO 400 or above?28 Jun 2005 18:03 GMT12
I'm looking for a compact  or ultracompact (preferably) that has low
noise at ISO 400 and preferably above. Noise Ninja can remove low t
moderate noise to my satisfaction, but I really need to avoid using a
flash.
Nikon Picture Project? 28 Jun 2005 17:02 GMT3
I'm using Nikon Picture Project to import images on to my computer. I'm
shooting RAW with a Nikon D70. I can't figure out where the files are going.
I want to back the Raw files up onto my server, but no where in the software
does it tell you where the files live.
Editing of photos28 Jun 2005 17:01 GMT8
I went to Google and searched but didn't find nearly the info I
thought I would find and what I did find was kind of old and I know
new things are coming out all the time.
So my question is what is the latest and greatest photo editing
Decisions Decisions28 Jun 2005 16:41 GMT4
Having read the reviews and user comments, I am having difficulty deciding
between Cannon S1IS, the Panasonic FZ5 and the Sony H1. Does anyone have
something the can sway the decision or the killer feature that works.
Thanks
Printing proof sheets of digitasl photos28 Jun 2005 16:21 GMT3
As far as I can tell, Photoshop has no provision for compiling and
printing proof sheets. Their print command deals with one image at a
time. Is there any way to print proof sheets like the ones that were
produced in the darkroom with silver-based processes? I suspect there
blurry viewfinders?28 Jun 2005 16:09 GMT5
I just looked thru the optical viewfinders of about fifteen different 4-7 mp
digital point and shoot cameras from Canon, Nikon, Kodak, and sony.  In
every case, the image   was sharp and in focus at the near end of the zoom
range, and out of focus and blurry at the far end.  None ...
Software for viewing pics??28 Jun 2005 16:06 GMT18
Can someone suggest a software program, hopefully free, that is good
for viewing pics (maybe even some tools with it) on the computer. I am
using Irfanview right now, but was thinking there may be something
better.
"I'm just a little bit freaked out"28 Jun 2005 14:13 GMT5
To quote David Byrne.  I posted earlier about cleaning the filter.
Well, I tried it again, using the following protocol:
- Powered down camera
- Removed lens
