I have a Canon Digital Rebel and was "playing" in the garden yesterday and
took some pictures of the birds I found there Please have a look and let me
know what you think. They are all as taken and have not been edited at all.

Flash tutorial?03 Jun 2005 19:36 GMT3
I've just brought home my Canon 580EX flashgun and I've been Googling for a
decent tutorial on the use of a modern flashgun - not much luck. Anyone got
a recommendation for me?
Thanks
Chaning mirror+focusing screen - how much would it cost?03 Jun 2005 18:36 GMT2
Well I've had a quite adventure with those.
Despite the fact currently only the fscreen is a little bit scratched
everything works quite right.
I was wondering how even slightly scratched mirror affects af sensor?

I live in the Fort Pierce, Fl area and this is the first of this type that I
have seen in my yard.  My dogs really didn't like it and got up against the
problem with video/picture viewers (like ACDSee)03 Jun 2005 11:23 GMT3
The problem is that all three programs I have tried of this type,
ACDSee, cam2pc, and PhotoExplorer all stop responding very
frequently.  Say, 1 one of every 2 times I use them.  These are
the only programs that regularly give me any kind of trouble.  It
Pondering a new camera, debating between the Canon S1 or waiting for the S203 Jun 2005 10:03 GMT11
None of the usual suspects have a good review of the Canon S2 yet, but
from what I've seen it looks promising.
Now the real question is, is it a 60% better camera than the Canon S1? I
don't see myself ever printing larger than 8x10, so the extra megapixels

Nikon D70 compatible w/ Nikon 35mm lenses?03 Jun 2005 08:53 GMT11
I'm pretty sure that Nikon's digital SLR's are compatible with their
traditional 35mm lenses, but I wanted to make sure.  I have an N80 w/
the Nikkor AF 28-80mm lens and am looking to add digital to the mix.
At bhphotovideo.com I can grab the D70 (USA) body for a pretty
EF-S Lens field of view03 Jun 2005 08:21 GMT8
Thought I understood the whole issue of FOV with 35 mm film lenses and the
1.6,.1.3 or 1.5 "cropping" effect due to various sensor sizes. However today
I read that when used on a 20D body an EF-S lens say of 40mm would give you
the same FOV as an EF 40 mm lens when used on a ...
[ Shoot-In ( SI ) - NEW MANDATORS TURNS LIST ] - It's that time!03 Jun 2005 07:55 GMT11
As beleaguered Al D. has not had time to attend to the task, I've
volunteered to manage the call for new mandators and determine by a
lottery of sorts the mandate turns list.
The next SI series will begin with a mandate given on July 1.
Canon A75 Macro Photography Questions03 Jun 2005 06:28 GMT2
Hi, I have a Canon A75.  I read how folks made macro lenses from
ordinary magnifying glasses so I tried it.  I used a kids toy
magnifying glass.
I put the camera on macro, put the lens at max telephoto, and then held
