Sony DSC-P93A08 Jun 2005 16:13 GMT3
I've recently purchased a digital camera and need to get more memory
for it.  There is SO many different types of memory sticks and capacity
for each available.
I was wondering if there is anyone that can point me to a site or know
Labelling prints in galleries: "photo" vs "digital photo" vs "digital manipulation"...08 Jun 2005 16:11 GMT2
When I display my photo prints from slides I always list the medium as
"photo," regardless of the method of reproduction (R print, scanned then
digital photographic print, scanned then inkjet print).  An inkjet print
from a digital camera would be marked as "digital photo."
Should I erase my memory card after every download?08 Jun 2005 13:35 GMT156
I heard that a memory card has the limit of certain number of writes. If I
earse the memory card after every download, I will be writing to the first
segments of the card every time. Hence, shorten the life of the card.
Have you heard of something like this?
OT : Flashgun For Sale as used on 300d08 Jun 2005 13:26 GMT9
I have owned this flashgun from new.  I doubt that it has been used to
expose more than 100 frames of film and 50 frames of digital in its
entire life . It has been regularly charged and discharged to keep the
capacitors in good shape. A thyristor is a fast acting switch that

Studio Flash 'V' Dedicated Flash 'V' Video Lighting08 Jun 2005 12:17 GMT6
My first question is what would be the difference between a dedicated flash
such as a Canon 550EX/580EX and studio strobes?  For example, would you get
just as good results using a Canon 580EX with an umbrella/softbox as you
would with a studio strobe with the same umbrella/softbox? ...
Canon box barcodes....08 Jun 2005 10:21 GMT11
According to the current canon cashback offer, you have to cut out the
barcode on the lens box and send it in with the vouchers / photocopy of
the receipt. However, cutting up the box may well reduce the resale
value of the lens (I have noticed on eBay that people seem to pay a

Any suggestions for burning pictures on CD, such that they can shown as

Picture Quality: Best vs. Best (3:2)08 Jun 2005 06:58 GMT4
I have a Kodak DX6340; not the top of the line, but it works for me.
There are four picture quality options: Best, Best(3:2), Better, and Good.
Here are the descriptions from the User's Guide for the first two:
Best: (3.1 MP)—for printing up to 11 x 14 in.(28 x 36 cm); pictures are ...

Sharpening Advice -Thanks08 Jun 2005 04:20 GMT1
Thanks to all for the advice on sharpening. Although I never intended to
spark quite the fierce discussion that ensued, I did learn a lot.
