What is a Fair price for a used Nikon D100?09 Jun 2005 03:26 GMT23
All,
Just curious, what is an good / fair price for a used Nikon D100?  I have a
friend who just replaced his fleet of Nikon D100's for three new Nikon D2X
bodies (he's a pro, I'm very much NOT pro).

Rechargeable CRV3 Batteries09 Jun 2005 01:00 GMT14
Ive been using throw away CRV3 batteries with my Kodak DX6440. Im
thinking about getting some rechargeable ones instead as they cost me
£6 a time for the non rechargeable. My question is: Do the
rechargeable ones last as long as the non rechargeable ones? I love the
what's 28.3 mp in terms of print size?09 Jun 2005 00:46 GMT13
What's 28.3mp (6144 by 4614 pixels) in terms of print size?
Let's say assuming a default resolution of 240 pixels/inch, though this
can be modified.
Yosemite Recommendations09 Jun 2005 00:45 GMT5
I will be heading to Yosemite late this month. I have a couple of books
that show the standard shots (e.g., Yosemite Falls and Half Dome). Any
recommendations of lesser-known areas that may have photo
opportunities? I don't mind hiking a few miles if it produces a goood
P&S09 Jun 2005 00:20 GMT26
If people are deciding between P&S and DSLR, I can tell you my
experience. I was in a Cabaret (quite awful, organized by a bunch of
egomaniacs) with poor lighting. I noticed an old woman trying to take a
photo of our star, waitress/queen, all she got was a black frame, even

opinions on the PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-FZ5K DIGITAL CAMERA?08 Jun 2005 22:31 GMT14
I've been looking for a new digital camera as my HP stopped producing
quality images - sent it in for repair out of warranty and it worked for
about 90 days and then quit focusing....
I'm considering, strongly, the PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-FZ5K DIGITAL CAMERA.
Nikon NEF format08 Jun 2005 21:35 GMT32
I have a web design client who is asking me to manage his digital photos,
taken on the Nikon D100 and the Nikon D2X.
A large number of the photos he submits to me are taken in the "NEF" format
which are unreadable to me (Photoshop 7, PSP8, Fireworks MX).
Smart Media Vs. Other Media08 Jun 2005 21:17 GMT6
I have notices that prices on Smart Media Cards are way more than the
prices of just any other media (at least at Wal-Mart) - can anyone
shed some light onto why the smart media is so much more - I would
really like to know, since this is what I use.
How to take good indoor pictures with Sony camera08 Jun 2005 20:57 GMT3
Under other thread, I mentioned pictures taken with Sony T1 camera (5 Mp)
were gorgeous when printed at Costco.   All of these pictures were taken
outdoors.   When pictures were taken indoors with default flash setting,
pictures were disappointing.   I am wondering whether that ...
Any opinions on the Olympus 8080W?08 Jun 2005 20:34 GMT3
I'm still a point-and-shoot type of person but would like to slowly
venture out into more manual controls. I want to avoid a full SLR since
I don't think I'll need all those features. I was looking at the Olympus
8080 and I thought it looked pretty good for my needs. The question ...
xD cards08 Jun 2005 20:19 GMT7
anybody tried the 1 gig cards yet, I've read that they can suffer from
jumping when used in movie mode on some cameras. Any info on this from
present users greatly appreciated.
Q: Nikon 8800 EXIF orientation tag ?08 Jun 2005 20:09 GMT1
I have a Canon IXUS 400 and a Nikon 8800 (which I use a lot).
The Nikon 8800 does not seem to write the EXIF Orientation
tag if I take portrait or landscape shots so I cannot use
the auto-rotate feature certain programs offer to speed up
Great Blue Heron -- I believe08 Jun 2005 17:33 GMT2
Don't get many opportunities like this in the big city, but I was walking
along the Potomac near Georgetown and I spotted what I believe is a Blue
Heron.
Sorry for the grain but it was dusk so I had to pump up the ISO to 800.
