Consumer Reports, Fuji, etc12 Jun 2005 19:34 GMT20
I just noticed a large feature article "Complete Digital Photo Guide"
in the 7/05 issue of Consumer Reports. They have recommendations for
three groups of digital enthusiasts: Casual, Serious and Advanced.
I'm wondering why anyone who is considered an "advanced" (or even
good quality digital12 Jun 2005 19:30 GMT7
Has anyone any views on the Olympus c7000. As a newbie to digital I
have been advised to stay away from Olympus (although my Olympus OM1 is
still going strong) and stick to Canon, Panasonic or Nikon.......
Thanks

Dad bought me new Zoom lens...12 Jun 2005 19:05 GMT8
My father bought me a camera. The Nikon D70. I've had it for about a year
and just love it. He also likes it very much and since I take care of all
his computer needs and support his home office network, he hooked me up.
Recently he bought a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 II Super Macro ...
Colors and Pixels question12 Jun 2005 18:44 GMT5
Someone handed me an article from 2002 about this new technology
called "X3" that was going to revolutionize digital photography
by sampling three colors at every pixel, allowing cameras to use
light 3 times more efficiently and increasing the effective
Font for photo captions?12 Jun 2005 18:43 GMT4
Can anyone point me to a download source for a Windows font which I
can use for slide show captions please? Ideally I want two fonts:
white with a black border, and black with a white border - the sort of
thing you see on film subtitles. Mostly I can manage with a familiar

This is a test shot using the Canon 300mm f/4 L IS lens with the Canon 2x
teleconverter. The shot was made on the 6mp digital Rebel with all
parameters set to 0 and ISO 200. The image is a full resolution center crop.
How number pictures sequentially?  Fuji S300012 Jun 2005 17:22 GMT3
How do I make my Fuji S3000 number pictures sequentially between card
empties?  My A210 did this great.  The S3000 starts numbering over at 1 each
time I copy the card contents to my computer.  Annoying!
Need serial number for software download12 Jun 2005 15:48 GMT4
I just got through re-installing Windows XP back onto my pc.  I am
trying to put my Olympus D-520 software back on it but it keeps asking
for the serial # that is on the inside of the disk holder it came in.
I have the box, receipts, etc, but no disk holder.  I wrote Olympus and
Electronic View Finders12 Jun 2005 15:30 GMT8
As I look at cameras, trying to decide between a big, intrusive dSLR or
a smaller, but less capable 'point & shoot', the long zoom p&s cameras,
such as the Panasonic FZ5 or the Canon S2 IS, present themselves as a
reasonable compromise. Except that all these long zoom cameras use ...
Fuji FinePix - How number photos sequentially?12 Jun 2005 14:38 GMT1
I have used a Fuji A210 for months and like that it numbers photos
sequentially, remembering the "last number" even when I empty all the
photos off the XD card.
My newer Fuji S3000 starts the picture number over at 0001 each time I empty

cameras being that they have large LCD Screens, you'll notice that they

For all measurements (as far as I have seen) you are able to choose mm,
cm etc. except this one.
Image number on Nikon C8800 Display12 Jun 2005 08:46 GMT3
I'd like to see the number of the next image that will be recorded (e.g
0035 of the filename DSCN0035.jpg) on the display screen of my C8800.
Does anyone know of a way to make that happen, presumably in place of
the number indicating the remaining images on the card?  I want to be
