Canon G3: Cost of Out-of-Warranty Repairs13 Jun 2005 03:56 GMT3
My Canon Powershot G3 worked fine until yesterday. Now, the rear LCD does
not work at all.  Everything else about the camera works just fine; it still
takes photos, and if I connect it to the TV, the TV will display everything
that the rear LCD ought to be displaying.  But the ...
Zoom on a digital13 Jun 2005 03:49 GMT1
If I put a 28 - 105 mm zooms lens on a D70 what is the comparison of this
lens in digital format?  Would it be 40 - 155mm?
Help with selection of Digital Camera13 Jun 2005 02:31 GMT32
I currently have a Sony DSC-V1 point & shoot digital camera.  I am
having a couple of problems.  One:  a lot of pictures are blurry.  Two:
the bright areas of the picture are over-exposed and the color is
washed out.  My thinking is I need a better camera.  I studied the
Canon A60 Review mode not working13 Jun 2005 01:58 GMT5
While in Egypt in March I dropped my A60 and after checking it out
discovered that the only problem was that the Review mode wasn't working.
I fiddled with the switch on the back and after a few toggles Review
started to work again, but with the switch in the position for taking

I noticed that in manual mode I can choose 100, 200, or 400,
but on auto mode I can glso get 179, i.e. values in between.

Disposable digital... what? why?13 Jun 2005 01:48 GMT17
I've never seen a disposable digital camera, and here's what I don't
get about them; why are they disposable? With film, that's easy,
because you have a use-once film that needs processing, but what's
disposable about a digital camera, and why can't it be used again?
Computer Monitor Recommendations13 Jun 2005 01:39 GMT3
Any recommendations on computer monitors.
I am looking for a pair of 17" CRT flat screen monitors, maybe Sony or Dell?
RESTROOM and TOILET DOOR SIGNS13 Jun 2005 01:06 GMT17
I'm a designer in London and I'm desperate for the toilet...signs you
see on doors for ladies and gents. Anything unusual, clever, different,
beautiful, ugly, odd, bad or bizarre is required. Or you may have
designed some.
Digital SLR Sensor Dust: I Do Believe I've Had Enough13 Jun 2005 01:03 GMT78
Just a couple of 'thoughts', having recently reignited my interest in
photography, and bought a Nikon D70. Prior to purchase, one very great
man advised me, no don't buy a whiz-bang 35mm film SLR, you'll never
use it, think how many more photos you'll take with a digital; another
Recommendations for camera shop in London?13 Jun 2005 00:24 GMT3
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good camera shop in London
(.uk)? I am looking for a BG-E2 grip for my 20d, but given that Canon have
acknowledged there is a problem with them, I need to try some out. My local
retailer (Jessops) only carries one in stock and unfortunately ...

# MPixels displayed on a 1080i HDTV?12 Jun 2005 22:40 GMT1
I just got a high-def photoviewer for an HDTV.  How closely do you
think the number of MegaPix in the camera would relate to the clarity
on the screen?  For example, for the exact same shot, would there be
much difference between the way a 4MP, 5MP, or 8MP camera would

Proshow Gold12 Jun 2005 21:52 GMT3
Can anyone tell me if there is a loss of quality when burning a
slideshow onto disc when compared to viewing it on the hard drive.
The hardive "unsaved/burnt" version seems to be far sharper than the
burnt version played back in say Windows media player
