I've owned this camera for less than 2 months and the zoom lever is sticking

Does the speed of CF media affect only how quickly you can take another
shot, or does it also affect how quickly the camera reacts to the shutter
button being pressed?

I'm looking for a replacement for my CoolPix 950.  I don't want to spend
a lot, since I eventually will be getting a Digital SLR
What I am looking for, is one with CF media and AA batteries
since I already have a bunch of each, and do not want multiple

This might sound like a daft question but what is the best way to clean
a digital camera lens?

5 MP, 2.5" LCD, Point and Shoot Cameras:

I shot this ladybug in the San Gabriel Mountains. The temperature was
fairly cool, and the ladybugs were mostly still for long periods of
time. That gave me the opportunity to go back to my car and get my
camera equipment. Notice the flower reflection on the ladybug's back.

My Canon EOS300D has a built in flash. What advantages would I gain by
buying an external flash such as the Speedlite 220EX or Speedlite
420EX?
With either of these flashes would I still get red eye?
