I am in the market for a 'mid-range' DSLR having been a film photographer
for some 50 years or so.
My perception is, from reading various comments, that almost all the current
DSLR's appear to have problems of one kind or another, requiring the camera

I've set my 350d to shoot RAW + Large.  When I download the files I was
expecting to get a RAW (.CR2) and a JPG file, instead I get 2 x JPGS.
Is this what is supposed to happen?  How do I "fiddle" with the RAW image?

My First IR pics test are online.  They were taken with a Canon

I am weighing the odds on price difference as I  need a lens that will cope

Is anyone successfully using an HP 6100-class SCSI scanner with Windows
XP?    I observe the following behaviors on my system:
1.  The Microsoft WIA scanner application (bundled with WinXP) works
fine.    (I can scan successfully with this app.)
