| Digital Camera w/ Macro | 20 Jun 2005 19:28 GMT | 4 |
I'm having trouble picking out a digital camera to use in a lab/engineering role. I was originally going to recommend the Nikon Coolpix 5400, but it seems that there are so many newer cameras now available that there might be a better choice.

| Correct use of ISO | 20 Jun 2005 18:38 GMT | 6 |
I finally got my Canon 350Dwith the 17-85mm IS USM lens. I guess I know that with poor light condition and the impossibility of using flash, such as in a museum, I can up the ISO to 800 and even 1600 with some noise. However, I don't understand why and when I should up the ISO when

| How do you rate your digicam's manufacturer? | 20 Jun 2005 16:19 GMT | 3 |
If you've had the occasion to contact your digicam's manufacturer for support ... how do you rate them? Did they resolve your problem and seem knowledgeable about the product or did it feel like standing in line at the DMV? My two recent experiences with Konica-Minolta USA were so ...

| How fast a Flash card is needed for the 20D | 20 Jun 2005 15:49 GMT | 9 |
Folks, How 'fast' a flash card makes sense with the Canon 20D? For example, Sandisk has a plain vanilla 1GB card, an Extreme II, and an Extreme III. What will be the difference with these cards in

| Set slave with Nikon D70 ...? | 20 Jun 2005 15:05 GMT | 5 |
Think Nikon D70 and Sigma EF500 DG Super flash. I'm trying to use the built in flash on the D70 to set off the Sigma flash which is positioned to the side of the subject. The Sigma ( slave) will fire with the Nikon's flash but I suspect they are not in sync

| What are the disadvantages to a wide angle lense? | 20 Jun 2005 11:57 GMT | 6 |
Lots of the cameras I'm looking at use a wide angle lense. I figure this is better, similar to how I prefer widescreen movies. But what are disadvantages to choosing wideangle? --

Has anyone a good idea for taping the spare flash card to the camera strap? In the olden days, we taped one or two black cylindrical film cannisters to the camera strap so as to have handy the extra rolls of

| lightweight telephoto for Nikon D70 | 20 Jun 2005 09:39 GMT | 2 |
I need a lightweight, at least half decent telephoto for a long overseas trip in the next 2 weeks. The new Nikon 55-200 will not be available until sometime in July, too late (this date is from Nikon). I suspect it will be no better optically than the

| will film always be around? | 20 Jun 2005 09:20 GMT | 66 |
I am in the market to get my first digicam. The reason I held out was I have a Minolta X700 with a whole list of fine and expensive lenses and accessories. I was sure that the level of digicam I could afford would leave me very dissatisfied quality wise.

| Questions About Canon Speedlite 580EX | 20 Jun 2005 08:58 GMT | 3 |
1. My new 580EX (on a 20D) shows only manual zoom; the owner's manual says, on p. 20, "The flash coverage can be set automatically or manually." But it doesn't tell /how/ to change this setting. I am not using a Canon lens, but am using a compatible Tamron zoom.

| Canon EF 70-200 F4 | 20 Jun 2005 05:20 GMT | 21 |
I recently took around 50 shots at my nieces graduation with a 300D and 70-200 F4. Unfortunately, there wasn't one usable shot. Every single shot is blurred to some degree. I realize this particular lens is a bit slow for indoor action shots, but I didn't think posed indoor shots ...
