Telephoto lens specs23 Jun 2005 02:11 GMT8
I have a Sony DSC-F828.  On the barrel of the lens it says from 28 up to 200
followed by the words "Equiv. 135".  I do not understand the changes in the
telephoto/wide angle designation since the advent of digital cameras.  It
would seem to me that a focal length would be the ...
Dramatic evidence - film v digital23 Jun 2005 00:39 GMT26
How do you compare digital to film? Do you make a negative from a digital
file and them print it or do you scan a negative and compare it to a digital
file?
Sadly there is no way to compare the two other than with final prints, each
Any idea when a 8MP Nikon dSLR will emerge?23 Jun 2005 00:32 GMT27
I, like I'm sure alot of others are curious when Nikon will come out
with a camera to compete with the Canon Rebel XT.  I'd say the D70 does
compete, but the Rebel is 8MP and the D70 is 6MP.  Obviously those
resolutions aren't way off, but everything being equal (both cameras
White balance with JPG22 Jun 2005 23:14 GMT7
I know the value of RAW and how much easier is white balancing with
RAW.  I have experience having done that.
If, however, what I have to work with is a bunch of JPGs, are there tips
to obtaining a nice balance above and beyond just eyeballing it?
Epson 2200 Compatible Cartridge22 Jun 2005 20:31 GMT1
Can anyone recommend compatible ink cartridges for the Epson 2200 printer,
that work as well as the Epson cartridges?
Thank you, any advice is appreciated.

Gizmo to access TV's without video input22 Jun 2005 18:31 GMT5
In many hotels/motels in Europe (and some in Canada), there are still TV's
without a video input.
I'm looking for an apparatus which would allow me to view my photos on such
a TV .
Playback on a TV for Casio Z55?22 Jun 2005 18:20 GMT3
I there any way to playback digital pics from the camera to a TV for the
Casio Z55 digital camera?
There is no apparent way to do this.  The camera comes with a USB cradle.
The USB cradle has only two ports, one for a DC cord and one for the USB

E10/E20 shutter life22 Jun 2005 17:34 GMT9
Some time ago there was a discussion labelled "E10/E20 has a VERY short
shutter life". Apparently in an Olympus FAQ a MTBF of 20000 was
reported for the shutter. Some authors believed that there was a "0"
missing. The issue was not resolved in that thread and the links (to
lens optics quality22 Jun 2005 17:00 GMT6
I have a Canon S1 and I'm thinking about a Rebel XT.  I'm reading the
EOS beginners FAQ, and it discusses lenses and the differences in the
quality of the optics found in various lenses.  I would get a better
feel for the differences and how important the differences are to me if

FZ20 exposure problem22 Jun 2005 16:27 GMT14
I recently noticed a problem with my Panasonic FZ20; I'm not sure if it
is an isolated problem on my unit, or if it is a more general problem
with this model.
Here is the problem:
Canon Powershot S2 questions22 Jun 2005 13:59 GMT19
I have the Powershot S1 and like it a lot, but I'm interested in
upgrading to the new S2 because of the higher resolution and slightly
more powerful zoom lens. Are there any other changes in the new model?
How about the lens cap? The one on the S1 is a complete piece of crap,
Fuji FinePix S5100 Focus problem22 Jun 2005 12:56 GMT17
My question relates to Focus. Everytime I take a picture with anymore
then about 3X zoom my pictures are out of focus. Zoom is one of the
reasons I bought this camera and have been very disappointed thus far.
I have tried using AF and MF. With a tripod and without. Changing
