Recently, 2 rather disturbing incidents in New York City regarding
photography have been reported on the web. The first was by an NYCT
employee taking photos in Manhattan. He was taking a photo in the
subway when a cop "sidled" up to him and the guy explained he was an
question about the Fuji A34027 May 2005 23:17 GMT2
Anyon know if the Fuji A340 connects via USB 1.1 or USB 2.0?  Fuji's
specs don't make it clear and my retailer doesn't know either.
Thanks

I have a Canon 300D, a 300mm f/4 zoom lens, and tripod. The sky is pretty
clear here tonight and I'd like to shoot the moon. Any suggestions or
pointers are welcome.
Nikon Coolpix 8800 when used with Nikon SB-800 external flash27 May 2005 21:48 GMT25
After getting fed up with highly inconsistent flash
performance in museum and car show environments with my
Nikon Coolpix 5700 and Sunpak 433D external, I plunked
down $1,400 for an 8800 and Sb-800 external.
What determines the size of the lense?27 May 2005 20:09 GMT3

is what it is?
Postscript to my Nikon 8800 and SB-800 query27 May 2005 20:00 GMT4
Hi, all!
Well, I've thrown in the towel - the 8800 and SB-800 are
going back to the store tomorrow. Sure hope the manager
is a man of his word! Here's a synopsis of what did/did

Are you all happy with your choice?
What are some of the things you do not like other than the EVF?
Do you shoot much at ISO 200 or ISO 400?  What kind of results do you get?
How is the noise level when compared to other 5MP point and shoots you
Kodak 14MP DSLR27 May 2005 18:44 GMT25
While looking for a (not to expensive) camera with as many MP as
possible I ran into the Kodak unit. 14MP for approx. 4000 Euro. I could
pay that money, but there are a couple of questions/issues:
1. How much will I need to spend for lenses, to cover a focal length
Nikon D2X Prices - are these for real?27 May 2005 15:32 GMT25
Check this out:  Nikon D2X for $2300!  There's a couple of other
(internet) places that sell it for $3k, but all top notch retailers
including bhphoto.com list it for $4999.
I wonder if these are a defective lot of units. I'd heard of some D2X's
meory card for Canon S227 May 2005 14:41 GMT5
The Canon S2 has just been released in Ontario. We're getting one and we
need to buy a memory card for it - a 512 or 1GB.
It's our first digital camera and I'm not sure about the camera processing
speed and the card speed correlation. I dont want to buy a card so fast the

I can't install the Easy Share software disc that came with the Kodak DX6340

It gets so far in the installation then stops with the message "Set up

shot and edited with adobe rgb; now print with srgb?27 May 2005 10:30 GMT9
I shot and edited my photos using adobe rgb colour space. Now it is
time to take them to the print shop.
The ones i have tried can't use adobe rgb as the output. THe best i
got was a guy saying he tried to configure it twice but couldn't as it
For the money, which would you reach for?27 May 2005 09:03 GMT10
The Nikon D70 or the Nikon Coolpix 8800?  The obvious answer is the
8800, but being a relative newbie to the digi world with the budget to
purchase either two, I am curious for some feedback/experiences.  FWIW,
I am an amateur 35mm user with eyes on getting some digi prints into a
