I'm dropping the http://traveltripod.com domain name but keeping the content available at http://nordicgroup.us/tripod/. The traffic on this site has held steady at ony 20,000 hits per month (of which 4/5 are from search engine bots), so for 4000 hits per month, it isn't worth it ...

| Macro Lens question | 01 May 2005 19:57 GMT | 22 |
I am interested in getting a macro lens for my canon 20d, and I think the canon macro is a little expensive. I saw the Tamron (SP AF180MM F/3.5 Di LD (IF) 1:1 Macro ($700)) and Sigma (APO MACRO 180mm F3.5 EX IF HSM ($600)) but I am not sure how good these

| Sample pictures? | 01 May 2005 17:30 GMT | 5 |
Does anyone know of a review site that actually posts sample pictures taken with a camera? I mean, that's really the only criteria that matters and yet all the reviews I've seen are just words without any real demonstration of what the image quality is. The stores that I've been to ...

| question about repair | 01 May 2005 13:23 GMT | 2 |
I understand there is no way to definitively answer my question but am intereste in "educated opinions". I have a Sony CD-500 digital camera with a Sony F32X flash. Unfortunately, both found their way into a bucket of water. I turned them off, tried to dry as much as possible but ...

| D1x and D lenses | 01 May 2005 10:44 GMT | 3 |
Hi girls and boys, Just a silly problem here (I hope....). I just tried out a Nikon D1x. The camera was setup with a 24-70mm lens (not a 'D' or 'G' type). Every shot was okay and the camera gave a preview. Changing the lens to a 'D' type: the 20

I have about 150 images on a Lexar 512MB memory card at present. When I download them with my SIIG 6-in-1 card reader, the first 120 or so, display properly as thumbnails on my computer monitor. but the last 30 or so do not show up as thumbnails.

| 20D Grey Highlights At ISO 1600 | 01 May 2005 08:54 GMT | 19 |
Hi. I have just been viewing some photos I shot indoors, but have noticed that the highlights seem to be grey! Anyone else experienced this? The photos were shot on a 20D. All the shots at ISO 800 and lower seem OK.

| Increasing Crop Size on Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED | 01 May 2005 08:47 GMT | 4 |
Is it possible to INCREASE the size of the scanning area for the above scanner? I've got some old slides (I think they are 126 format or something like that) which are in 2 inch mounts just as are my 35mm slides. The film area is higher and narrower than a 35mm slide however. I'd ...

Nikon D70 meets the desert landscape. Watch a travel blog in progress: http://www.alleycat-sojourns.com/RoadTrip2005 (I just got this camera recently, so there's still a bit of finesse to learn, but I'm having a blast with it. The Nikon images start on the
